Game of Death (roleplay story thread)

Welcome to the Game of Death roleplay, my friends. Each of you is here for a unique reason; some of you are here for the glory, some for revenge, and some just for the fun of it. None of you came here to die. But that is what will happen to you in the end. Surprised? You should be. This is not Lockdown, where, if you fall in battle, you will respawn back at home base. Oh no, it's nothing like Lockdown! It's more like...the Clockworks, on Elite difficulty, controlled not by the computer, but by your fellow human beings, and you never get a second chance. Scared yet? No? Then maybe this will scare you:
You are also being chased by a bloodthirsty Stalker.
Now are you scared yet? Good, you should be. Go play along with your little toys now. Remember, Papa is watching.
Ha ha.
Ha ha ha.
Muah ha ha ha ha!
__________
Seerusly though, welcome to our roleplaying game. Your job is to survive the onslaught of moderator-controlled traps and player-controlled characters for as long as possible.

You wake up on a basic straw bed in a tiny two-meter-square room, walled off with gray-colored solid concrete. There is a barred steel sliding door about a meter away to your left (the bed is a meter wide and two meters long). The door is unlocked, and will slide with a great deal of noise. Looking through it, you can see a larger open area, with many doors lining the walls. You can't count them all, but you notice that there are six doors on the opposite wall, and if the room is square, then you figure there should be about 24 doors total. The room is a rusty brown color, lit by armored fluorescent lights on the roof. Four of the doors on the opposite wall are open and empty, while other two contain people whom you can't see very clearly.
If you were to move your bed a little, you would see a large bloodstain hidden in the corner.

I grumbled as I woke up, shaking my head. Taking note of my surroundings, I leap up, pressing my back against a wall. A took a moment to take everything in and calmed down. Walking up to the door, I can see a bunch of rooms on the opposite side from my view, six actually, however four of them are open. Should probably see what exactly I have in my little room, I thought, walking around looking around the tiny cell. I paused, thinking it strange that I thought of it as that, but ignored it. Upon moving the bed I discovered a disturbing blood stain smeared on the corner. I looked back out the barred door. I don't want to draw attention to myself, so I'll just wait for other people to leave first, I planned, moving back onto the bed, as far away from the door as I could, watching and observing.

I wake up to a grinding sound. I rise up and look to my left to find that a door had just opened up to a large room with some open doors like yours. I try to stand up but find myself a bit dizzy. As I wait for my head to clear, I hear a scream of of agony echo a bit.
Well, dang. That sounded gruesome. There is either great pain or death out there. I probably shouldn't rush anywhere. I then realize I have no idea WHERE I am. Lets see... I realized that something was off in politics, not sure WHAT, but I'm sure... started telling random strangers what I think... something...happened, and now I'm here.
"Okay, so probably something to do with that, and it sounds like I was right about things being weird." I stand up. "WHOA, TOO EARLY!" I fall back on the straw bed, moving it a bit. I sit back up and look around again. "Wait, blood?" I quickly check myself.
"...I'm not bleeding, so where did that come from?" Addressing the bloodstain. "Yeah something weird is going on."
I then realize ANOTHER obvious thing, I only have my proto stuff. "Aww, what? I just bought an owlite shield!"
The fact that I woke up from being knocked-out, I'm in a solid concrete room with probably steel doors, and the fact that I'm stripped of everything I had makes me certain I'm in some sort of prison.
After my head clears, I slowly step outside the room.
((OOC: am I safe to assume we are all in the same room of 24 on the same wall? Also, 2 questions, are there more than 24 people in the maze, and where is the exit to this room?))

Ahah, I only described what was visible to you.
Now that you have stepped out of the cell, you have a better view of your room. There is are double-doors on the northern (and in your case, to your right) wall, flanked by two doors on either side. There is a large screen above the double doors. You can now count the doors more accurately; there are 22 of them in total. 16 of them are open, and the other 6 are occupied. Your cell is in the northern corner, situated next to another occupied cell.
The occupied cells are arranged such that there are two prisoners on each major wall (except the one with the double doors), with two occupied on the leftmost side of each wall.

I walk to the door with the screen on it, after looking at the cells close to me much more closely.
((OOC: if he notices anything interesting, he will stop to inspect it. if not, he opens the door.))

The screen flashes and display's Serris's ugly face.
"Greetings, little Knights! I am Captain Serris, and I will be hosting the games this week. You have entered the games with dreams of glory, honor, and prestige; great rewards of wealth and power will be showered on the victor. But with great reward comes great risk, and these are not childrens' games, where you respawn after you die. No, this...this will be a fight for your life!"
"You will face many hazards on your journey to greatness. Enemies may beset you on all sides; traps wait in the walls to slay you; and, of course, the legendary Finder herself!"
The mention of "The Finder" brings rounds of applause, boos, and cheers from the audience (who have a clear view of the lobby, and have video screens to let them watch the rest of the games).
Serris claps his hands together. "So, knowing all the risks and glories you seek, let the games begin!" Trumpets sound, and the audience cheers again. The double doors at the north end of the room swing open, and the video screen shuts off.

Huh...? Where am I?
I flutter my eyes open, my surroundings coming to life. It was pure darkness before, now it's pure light. I look around, rising from my fetal position. The room was very brown with rust, but I paid little attention to the detail. The bigger slice of attention was given to the large bloodstain on the corner. I spring out of the bed I was on, and walked over to the stain. I rubbed the wall, my gloves suddenly covered with dry blood. I dust myself and fixed my dress, the frillies getting mixed. I checked my pockets, and nothing. I checked my wrist, my watch was there. [][]:[][]:[][]
Aww... I thought.
Then I look around again. I was in a cell for sure. But why? I check my watch again. My reflection showed itself, and I remembered the earlier happenings. I was just playing some Lockdown matches... but how the heck did I get here? I check myself again. My revolvers were gone.
"The heck?" I said, picking up the replacements. Two Proto Guns.
Then a speaker, or something else seemed to come to life. A voice patched through, and I saw my cell door opened. I walk outside and see a male younger than me. The screen in front of him had a face flashing on. I listen to the words the face kept saying.
No, this...this will be a fight for your life! You will face many hazards on your journey to greatness. Enemies may beset you on all sides; traps wait in the walls to slay you; and, of course, the legendary Finder herself!"
The mention of "The Finder" brings rounds of applause, boos, and cheers from somewhere, obviously.
"So, knowing all the risks and glories you seek, let the games begin!" Trumpets sound, and the cheers earlier sound again. The double doors at the north end of the room swing open, and the video screen shuts off.
"The heck?" I said.
(OOC: Note, only part of this is just a little copy pasta from Thin's post to make it complete.)

As I sit there, waiting in the dark, I hear a couple of doors screech open, moving a bit closer, I see some Knights walk out, moving past my field of vision. A sudden glow illuminates the room outside, much brighter than it was before. A voice then blares out from outside. I listen intently, the sneering making me frown, how pathetic. Captain Serris must think he's so special, I thought angrily. The mention of 'The Finder' makes me perk up, well, now that is a game changer. After I listen a little more, I decide to get a look at just what kind of an idiot came up with the idea of these 'games'. I close my eyes, focusing hard on his voice and the light filtering in through the barred door. And holding out my hands, I force open a minuscule disruption in spacetime, just small enough for light to enter, and warp the air around it to act like a lens, the image appearing on the wall behind me. I only see him briefly as he announces the beginning of the games, but I got a good look at his bad face. That's the face I'm going to look for.
The sound of more doors opening draw my attention, just a little longer, and I can get out of this dump.

I groan as I sit up. I rub my temples as waves of pain pass through my head.
Where am I? Why am I here?
Urgh... I made a mistake trying to stand up. I stagger to the bars of the door of this small prison like room and the metal clangs in response. I look around absorbing my surroundings. The straw bed, the concrete walls and, and... the tiny, dried blood stain peeking our from the top of the bed. I yank the bed back and see that the blood stain covers an entire corner of the room. I blink several times when I realise I'm in proto armour. What is going on? I think. Almost as if on cue, the door slides open with a loud ominous screech. I step out and lean on the door's archway and see on the right that there is a double door with a screen hanging above it.
Suddenly the screen flickers on and display's Serris's ugly face.
"Greetings, little Knights! I am Captain Serris, and I will be hosting the games this week. You have entered the games with dreams of glory, honor, and prestige; great rewards of wealth and power will be showered on the victor. I gulp and look down at my feet and see I am trembling. I watch as other file towards the door, running, jogging, walking. I close my eyes and try to wake up from my dream. I know this isn't a dream but inside me there is a small, warm fire of hope. I have to hold onto my hope. I'm usually calm but this has worried me to this content.
Why me?
===
OCC: I did the same thing as Skye. I copied from Thin's post.

You're our surprise. You're our game changer. But you're still useless filth.
I'm shoved into a platform, and raised into the arena, so it cou be called. I rub my misty eyes, and weakly get up. I was fed before I got here. I honestly think even the little bit they gave me could leave me full for a day and a half. I hold my stomach, and use the other arm to wipe furiously at my eyes. Tears only get in the way. I pick up the Proto Sword they dropped with me, and set my eyes to the distance. I will go straight, and see where it gets me. I rub my eyes, unable to see where I am from the tears that always fill my eyes these many days. I fall to my knees, and let the inside of myself take control, and I calm down, a deeper instinct taking over. I open my eyes, and I walk forward...
((Location must be described.))

When you open your eyes again, two armed guards hall you into a cell on the south end of the room, where you sit for nearly half an hour before you hear a commotion outside. Several cell doors open, people step out, and a vaguely familiar voice sounds over the intercom.
No, this...this will be a fight for your life! You will face many hazards on your journey to greatness. Enemies may beset you on all sides; traps wait in the walls to slay you; and, of course, the legendary Finder herself!" An audience cheers, and Serris continues. "So, knowing all the risks and glories you seek, let the games begin!" Trumpets sound, and the audience cheers again. There is a creepy creaking sound (doors opening), and the audience cheers again.

Noticing nothing of interest in the other open cells, I go to open the double doors to find them... locked.
I was confused for a moment until an ugly man's face appears on the screen above the doors.
"Greetings, little Knights! I am Captain Serris, and I will be hosting the games this week." Captian serris said. "You have entered the games with dreams of glory, honor, and prestige; great rewards of wealth and power will be showered on the victor.
There seems to be mixed reaction to this.
Serris claps his hands together. "So, knowing all the risks and glories you seek, let the games begin!" Trumpets sound, and the audience cheers again. The double doors at the north end of the room swing open, and the video screen shuts off.
Looking through the doors, I see...
((OOC: Mostly copy-pasta. Not exactly sure what "audience" you were talking about.))

You see pitch-darkness. The light from the lobby has illuminated the area around the doorway in the room, and you are unable to see anything unusual.
(OOC: The "audience" is the massive group of people seated around the outside of the lobby, who are looking down at you through a glass roof. They have video screens linked to cameras all around the dungeon system so they can watch the action no matter where you go.)

Looking through the doors, I see a pitch black room of pitch blackness. Knowing death is out there for certain, waltzing out there blindly into darkness is not the best idea. I look at the nearest cell again. The only thing there that is not fixed in place is the beds.
"Worth a shot." I say to myself.
I slide the bed over to the double doors.
Let's see... A bed made of straw... Entering a dark room... I have no ways to set it on fire it to light the room... Maybe some one else can? I think to myself.
"Hey, anyone in here have anything that can light fires? Or even anything that ISN'T proto gear?" I call to the people in the room. I mean, everyone here wants to escape, right? Plus knowing the people in the room could be useful... though I'd probably be able to figure another solution on my own.
((OOC: I was going to do this myself, but that would be boring to everyone else if I solved the first puzzle on my own.))

(OOC: I hadn't actually thought of that solution. I was expecting players to either shimmy along the wall or step very carefully into the room. Good thinking! You can probably set off a spark by shooting a Proto Sword with a Proto Gun.)
When you push the bed through the double doors, you hear a *ker-chunk* in the floor.

After all the other Knights, which I refuse to refer to them as 'players', leave, I clench my fists and release them, forcing light to warp around me, cloaking me. Walking out, I see that the Knights have gathered around a set of double doors, with large screens from which I assume is where Serris's putrid face was projected from. The doors are open, revealing a pitch black room. One Knight cleverly drags a bed from his room to the dark room, shoving it in. He then asks if anyone could light it. I smirk, smart tactics. Looking round, I move back, and hold out my hands, hoping that I can hold onto the cloak, I look at the bed and force the area to super heat. In a quick flash a flame begins to engulf the bed, smoke drifting off. The inside of the room then illuminates menacingly, the flames casting ominous shadows across the walls. I relax, my cloak was still on.

I blow away a strand of hair in my face, and hear someone calling for help. I sit against the wall, and look at my dress. It's unsalvageable...so I suppose I can use it to attend to these cuts along my arms and head. I strip the cloth and layer it together, tightening the bands one-handedly. The cuts were originally received by those I thought to be my friends, the imperial guards. I talked to them when I was lonely, but I suppose they're the ones that gave my original plans away to my father. After that, they'd brought out whips and swords...
A tear falls onto one of the cuts, and I gasp, tears stinging my eyes...
Eventually, the dresss is cropped completely, the silver and green armor of the Proto set changing into something of a cropped armor top and skirt, and knee-high boots. I realize the Proto can morph...I touch the helmet on my head as it changes to what I presume is a black flower. I look strange with black cloth bands along my arms and legs, but it's necessary. I pull the cloth over my forehead and turn it into a headband of sorts, my hair still covering one eye. I might as well hope the Games start soon. It's the only way I can stop it at all...
I slouch against the wall once more. I'll be useless here. There's no way I'm going to get out of here with these trained professionals...but there's still that chance I'll live...but no one is going to ally with someone like me unless they get higher level armor, which I can use to full potential. Once they learn what they want to, they'll kill me on the spot...I finger the necklace around my neck...
There's a story my people tell, of how a man was desperate to save his child from dying, and he swore thirteen times to the heavens he would give anything to save her...and that's when he appeared. The Final Snarbolax, the last of it's kind with a mind. He asked if the man would desire a kingdom, at any cost. When the man agreed, the Snarbolax asked for his soul. The man unwittingly gave it when it was obvious he and the girl should have died on the spot, but the Snarbolax changed the fate. The man became a corrupted, and ruled a kingdom that was built on lies and backroom deals, yet everything looked fine on the surface. The Snarbolax left, and so a statue was built, and this necklace worn like a cross. But the statue doesn't look like a Snarbolax. It looks humanoid, not like the four-legged animal I saw in the fifth Depth...
I fall asleep thinking hard...hearing a door open...

The faint outlines of trapdoors are scattered randomly around the room. At the opposite end is a door and a light switch.

Seeing all the trapdoors litter the floor of the room was blatantly obvious. A flicker of flame revealed a door and what appeared to be a light switch were on the opposing side. I could have teleported to the other side, but setting a bed on fire is enough on my part, I thought. I moved back, getting a bit tired of cloaking for so long.

I open my eyes, and see everyone walking towards a pair of doors. Stumbling from sleep, I walk in to the pitch black room, and feel my feet slip out from under me, and feel my face hit something hollow. I retract quickly and stand, brushing off my armor. I turn right, and move past everyone to the wall. I walk along it, opening my eyes as big as I can, absorbing as much light as possible. As I walk, I hear panicked squeals. I hold my stomach to keep from gagging at the thought of death. Maybe they had only tripped?

As I stood in there, watching some Knights attempt to maneuver their way around the traps, one Knight catches my attention. She was wearing a strangely torn up dress, which seems to have been used as make shift bandages. What really catches me is her beauty... I shake my head, forcing the thoughts out.
No way. Last time that happened; I sigh, intently watching as she makes her way through the dimly lot room, the flame casting shadows over her, making her all the more mysterious.
(OOC: Did I forget to mention that Nitscu is quite easy to fall for someone xD)

The fire on the bed is suddenly snuffed out in a gist of wind, and the room is dark once more. An otherworldly snarl comes from somewhere in the room, and the door suddenly shuts behind the party. Something grabs Alice and shoves her down the trapdoor. She lands on the bottom with a crunch. The floor feels moist, lumpy, rubbery, and porous, and there is an occasional sharp protrusion here and there in the low points of the floor. The metal walls are very dry, and one could easily get a grip on them. The chamber is only a meter wide, but it is three meters deep.
The chamber reeks of death.

I struggle to get up from the sickening moist ground, my legs hurting horribly. I reach out and feel a metal wall, nice and dry. I gag. The smell of death enters my nose, and I gag again. The castle...the pool of dead in the ball room...I can't take that again. I charge my Proto Gun, and look around. The trap door is three meters up, but maybe if I use my bandages as a rope I can get out! I shove the gun's handle in my mouth, and hold the charge as I desperately pull off the strips of cloth and start tying them. I wrap it around my arm as I tie, and start remembering the rain on the windows that night, and the lightning crashing down from the heavens and sending roars across the valley...is there a predator in here? Something killed these people. Maybe I'm it's predator, not the prey. I weave the rope quickly and reach down, grabbing a bone. I tie it to the end of the rope, and swing it up at least ten times for fifteen minutes until it catches. I climb up until I remember my pained leg...damn. I am not sitting down, so I can only hope someone will see the bone and the rope and pull me up. Hopefully before the predator's back.
I swing my sword hard, as a clanging reaches out from the trapdoor. I grab onto the rope, swinging back and forth across the pool...

I look around my surroundings, and let out an audible groan. After my "unexpected" pickup for the games, I had expected to be in conference with my employers, but all I got was an unwelcome blow to my head. I searched around to find that my gear had been taken, leaving me with the basic proto gear even a rookie knight had. I immediately put my clothes on over my armor, and to my surprise fount a PDA in the pocket of my jacket. Quickly pulling it out and turning it on, text appeared. "We can't help directly, you're on your own. Find the targets on the PDA, eliminate or help them depending on our say. Any violation of our agreement will have you immediately removed from the game."Just as I stood up and got composed, the doors opened with an ominous sound, with cheers echoing throughout the lobby. I stepped out to find the room encased in darkness, as soon as most of us had filed in another knight had stepped through, pushing one of the beds with him. Another player set the bed ablaze, and the interior of the room showed. A few pitfalls and traps, but really caught my eye was the switch to the back. But before I could move, the fire burned out, the doors shut, and snarls emerged from somewhere. I quickly act, and bring out my proto gun, and fire at where I saw the switch. The snarls get closer, and I can only hope I've aimed right.
(OOC: Thinking that the mods decide who Axis helps or tries to kill off.)

I heard the snarls above grow louder. I don't even care anymore, my legs will hurt, but at least I won't die this way nor have others die! I grab the rope, and inch up until I'm at the top. I grab the corner the bone was held to, andshove open the trapdoor. I climb out, by now my legs are in serious pain, but that doesn't matter. I turn my head to see a light coming from a man's gun...I grab my own and point it in the direction as he does. I slam closed the trapdoor, and stare in every direction. This thing couldn't scare me more than what I saw in the castle, what was eating the remains of the people. No, that thing was that of nightmares. The deepest part of ourselves. I call it Feral.
I release the trigger, and start dragging myself by my arms toward the general direction of the door. Everyone seemed to have forgotten about that. If I turn the lights on, let's see what happens.
And on this day, I swear
Full allegiance with that of the Infestation
And on this day, my burden will be no more
And I shall return as your host
To fulfill my last purpose to keep the Infestation at bay
-Unknown

Someone (I'll leave it up to you guys) manages to flip the light switch.
The room is immediately showered in bright light, and someone yelps with surprise. A crawling figure in a black hood is visible for a split second, then vanishes into thin air.
The north (exit) door also opens up. The room beyond appears to be brightly lit.

I get up from the ground, my legs shaking. I had turned on the lights, and panic stopped. I turn and give the man who had pointed his gun at the monster a meaningful look before turning around and walking into the next room, darkness enveloping my figure...

I was a little paralyzed by the small announcement. I mean, who isn't when someone tells you you will fight for your life. :/ I run back to my room, searching for comfort from the four walls making it. I hear a ker-thunk, and I shuffle back out. It was that guy earlier, pushing his bed through a double-door.
I saw other people beginning to follow him inside, so I did too. Then it was all dark. All I see were silhouettes.
Feeling my way inside the dark room, there were some indents on the floor, but I didn't pay any attention to them. I bumped against a wall twice or thrice, then I hear a snap. Light floods the room, and clearly I can see a door on the northern side of the room, along with the "other" people I saw.

((Alice already turned on the liiiiiiiiights xD))

As I watch the Knights file into the dark room, the fire suddenly sniffs out, and the double doors slam shut. Despite the moment and the fact that I know I was being watched, I uncloaked, taking some time to rest after holding it up for so long. My attention drawn back to the doors, I swear I could hear a few screams and who knows what else was happening in there. I focus and use Clairvoyance again, but all I can see is darkness. I try and look carefully but then a figure moves past my view and I hear what seems to be snarling. It was all quite strange, hearing the different sounds in that room, all happening in the dark, grunts whispering, shuffling and something much more sinister. Weak green shots begin to ring out, and in a flash of light, the room is lit and the door next to it swings open. I watch as all the other Knights escape the trap room, my eyes lingering for a bit too long on that one girl, before walking back up to the closed double doors, clapping hands together and reappearing on the other side.

In a matter of seconds, the light flicker back on. But to my horror the figure that had been menacing us simply just teleports away. It could probably take us all out on a whim, but that wouldn't be much of a game now, would it? I needed to get my gear back, and fast. I walk slowly into the well lit room, taking notice of three other people, the player that had pushed the bed, the girl that had been by the switch, and....someone else standing back where we entered from. Strange, he hadn't been there before. Just more targets to eliminate, and like that my PDA started to hum, looks like I had my kill list.
(OOC: Waiting for mods to assign Axis his kill and/or save list)

This is the layout of the next level.
Also, the dungeon map has been updated.
(OOC: @Gzilla: in a way, your kill list consists of everyone in the game. However, given that your character's survival may depend on them, you should probably wait on killing them until you reach the end of the Game.)

I woke up and noticed a room and it seemed to be the only way out but I noticed something odd about the bed. I moved it to the other side and noticed a blood patch on the wall but I never took much notice to it. I then entered the first room but the door behind me locked up but I noticed some people after this room but before I moved, I noticed some traps on the ground even though it was pitch black. I started to walk around the traps and found a light switch. However, I noticed a weird looking enemy hiding in the corner but it then vanished and I walked to the next room where everyone was. (I basically summed up what would have happening in my side of the story).

OOC: (You do realize that either Alice or Axis flipped the switch right? You just can't go around ignoring the prior posts)

Some people crowded around me, and looking at them, I saw they also had proto gear only. And sadly nothing that could light a fire from what I saw.
Well, maybe we could just move around careful- My train of thought was interrupted by the sound of a bed spontaneously bursting into flames. What the...? Who did that? Looking at other peoples faces, they all seemed at least moderately surprised.
The beds flames light up the room revealing a couple of trapdoors. I start weaving my way through them before the fire goes out, the door closes, and an eerie sound is made.
Aw crap, I'm going to die aren't I? My mind shifts to thoughts of my parents. I wish there hadn't died. Or even, I wish I was at least THERE when they died. I wish I was able to- My thoughts are interrupted by the lights coming on.
Upon the lights coming on, I could have sworn something in the corner of my eye disappeared, but it might have been my imagination.
In the next room, the lights are on. A chasm is in the middle of the room, with a door on the other side. There are multiple ropes that I assume you have to hop from one to another to get to the other side. Inside the chasm, instead of immediate death, is a bunch of lumbers ready to maul anyone who comes down. To try to see if there's a easy way out of this, I try and see if I could hit them with my proto gun.
((OOC: Ironically for my characters back-story, my grandpa died and I am sad. D: I'll still post, but it might not be my best effort. Also, If I have limited ammo, ignore that last sentence.))

As I walked through the door, I gave up on cloaking and decided to just stay back. I saw that everyone had stopped, a large chasm separating us from the what appears to be the exit.
(OOC: I'm so sorry Dmatter, I hope being in this RP cheers you up and helps take your mind off of it.)
The ropes were clearly the means of getting from one side to the other, but an idea popped into my head, I quickly dismissed it. That would be an extremely irrational thing to do; using telekinesis to move everyone from one side to the other, they've done nothing for me, and it would be difficult.

(You did it again Dmatter! You weren't supposed to shoot the lumbers, you were supposed to fear and avoid them. xD Too clever. lol)
Someone steps through the door on the other side of the chasm. "Come on! This way!" she shouts, beckoning you all to cross over to her side. She withdraws her impressive Voltedge-Callahan gunblade and begins firing away at the lumbers in the Chasm. It's not very effective, but it's doing more damage than Klepto's Proto Gun.

I was able to reach the other knights here and I slipped under the bed which had a secret trapdoor which got me to the next room. When I reached the next floor, the bed that had the trapdoor got set on fire for no reason. I rushed to the next room to see what was to happen and I noticed 12 ropes hanging on the ceiling and the pit beneath was full of Lumbers which will kill anyone instantly if they fall in. I started to hear footsteps and then turned invisible but I noticed 1 Lumber was shaking like a mecha knight. That lumber confused me and wondered why it was shaking. I started to hear people talking and then got a message from a random void enemy which confused me since there was no swarm enemies nearby. Then the lumber which was shaking turned into the swarm counterpart. The lumber said the following "All lumbers in this pit where kidnapped by the leader and I am getting weaker from being away from a swarm seed, if you have 1, come down and I will protect you until you placed it down". I start to think about it and then I saw a few knights enter the room and I sat in the corner thinking about how to get down there without getting brutally killed.

A shout from the other side of the Chasm draws my attention. My heart stops. Oh great Isora, not again. Why are there so many beautiful women in this place?! I shake and my head and force myself to regain focus. The tactic that the clever Knight was doing doing just made me admire him more, he clearly has a smart head. The attractive girl on the other side of the Chasm joins in on his attack on the Lumbers, but then I'm drawn to the woman's weapon, it wasn't Proto, in fact, it was a combination of some quite powerful weaponry. I walk up to the edge of the chasm away from the others, and whip out my Proto Sword. Doing a quick few slashes in the air, I ionize the particles around the sword swings, and launch them at the Lumbers. I continue doing this, which was much easier for me with a sword.

((Seeeeaaaatttuuusss, that's why I said, then I hear a snap. Light floods the room just so her deed is recognized :) ))

I wasn't looking in the best of places. I checked my surroundings for a danger scan to confirm my suspicions. It was clearly too dangerous. Readings off the scale. In any normal case I would smash the wall down with my rocket hammer and go 'Goodbye!' but every single weapon of my arsenal was missing except my stupid zero-stars. I charged up my 'special ability' but when I used it, there was NO effect whatsoever! Nothing I knew could withstand the crippling plasma blast caused by it. Oh come on!

((Skyyyyyye it sounded like you backed up into the lights XD!))
I stare down at the Chasm, my hair whipping. It reminds me of a story. A long time ago, a man was banished to Vog's Hell for disbelief in Vog and his own wicked deeds. When he got there, he asked Vog if he could have a glass of water. Vog said you can't drink water in hell. So the man begged Vog to warn his family not to come here, to never come here. He begged for water from the angels, but a chasm kept them too far apart for the angels to help him. I look at the new woman. She wasn't with us, so she's a threat. I sit down, wincing as pain floods my wounds, and my legs hurting from the fall. My legs dangling over the edge. I wait to see how everyone gets out...

OOC: Vogdamnit, everyone posts so quickly!

Operator had his hand poised on a lever, preparing for the arrival of the 'players'. He uses his other hand to click a button, and in a rasp voice said to the Finder, "Take out the remainders from the ready room. Then kill that pretty girl in the dress. I don't care how, poison, darts, traps, lasers..... take her out. Then next, the guy who pushed the bed. He's too smart to keep alive."

"Take out the remainders from the ready room. Then kill that pretty girl in the dress. I don't care how, poison, darts, traps, lasers...take her out. Then next, the guy who pushed bed. He's too smart to keep alive."
The Finder whimpered. "Fine. Just...butt out," she whispered into the comm. She plugged another Lumber in the gears and retreated behind the door.

I stared, noting everything about the mysterious girl that had just appeared. She immediately started to fire at the pit, which housed dozens of lumbers. The only form of getting across were ropes. She was using a custom weapon, not only were those rarely awarded in the game, it was almost impossible to obtain anything above 1* this early in. The simple conclusion was she was an agent of the operators and Serris. "Apparently I'm not the only gun for hire here...." I thought dismally to myself. I couldn't let her take out anyone here, the less people I killed, the less I got paid. My conscience rapidly turned my thoughts, but I couldn't be distracted. If I had ANY shot at taking down the people that took away my life, I'd need to survive the games. The girl, made something close to a frown, but from this far away it was hard to tell. She just called us to follow, and left through the doors she cam through. "She's not one of us." I stated simply, loud and clear for the rest of the contenders to hear.
I quickly mustered my strength, preparing a poison wave that would hopefully take down the lumbers in the pit. But something stopped me cold, I stood back in horror. They had contained my powers, for how long and to what degree I had no idea.I tried again, but found I could only summon a few quills. I immediately shot the quills at the remaining lumbers. Hopefully the poison would ensure a quick getaway if anything went wrong. I jumped for the rope nearest to me, and caught a strong grip. "Anyone else coming or not?"

OOCs:
((Seeeeaaaaaatttuuuuusss, yeah, I read it a few times a gain and again, it seemed I had NOT made it a little clearer XD))
((Topo, yeah. I know that feel.))

I walked out of the room, scanning what was around me all the time.
Then I found a monitor, and Serris's ugly face appeared.
'Ya can't fool anyone I know - they'd know the last thing I recall killing was a virulisk. But you decide to be such a coward and put the body of a person you killed near me to avoid being stabbed in the FACE by Feron. If you want, I'll blast your ugly face off Cradle this very minute.
Serris laughed. 'Oh really now?'
I said with an even rougher voice, my eyes under my scanner burning red with hatred 'Yes. And if you don't out your hands up, I'll blow you up.' Anyone hearing it would clearly know that I hate Serris. After all, before this he sent me to the Wasteland (ThC reference), locked my best friend up and killed Firesword, my sprite.
Even my entire helmet was burning red hot with hatred then. 'Unless you put your hands up NOW, on the count of three I'll annihilate you. And YOU won't respawn. You never said anything about ME.' I said that because under the Proto Crest I was wearing was a cache of Sparks of Life I always kept as an emergency. I laughed.
As the face of Serris flickered out, I quickly used my sword as a forging hammer and combined my gun and bomb to make a grenade launcher. Ka-Boom, monsters of this place!
I tried my new 'toy' out on another Virulisk. (How odd) The grenade from the charge attack blasted the venomous chameleon into thousands of tiny gibs.
Gun with bomb means mass destruction, in the form of a grenade launcher.

I go on my own, glancing at the... thirteen(?) ropes. They were in an awfully obvious pattern, but then again, that "Serris" guy might have known this. He could have set a trap. Under the ropes was a big chasm, and maybe twelve to fourteen feet until we get down. I reached for the first, one very near to the entrance, and swung from rope to rope like they were vines. My mind worked out the pattern. Then I felt my feet slip as I stepped on the platform.
Oh no-- I'm gonna fall.
((I'm trying my best to not-break the rules, so far, I'm conscious about breaking one. I think I'm doing it right, though, but ah'm not sure. :P EDIT: I just corrected some other errors.))
"Open the cells. Let the subjects out." Operator says into a microphone. He pulls a lever, and the initial traps are set. 'The easy ones.' He mused, 'only weaklings will die here.'
As if on cue, a person, A.K.A Subject #97 steps on to a pressure plate, and a flamethrower activates. He screams as it engulfs him, then the screams subside. The screams echoes all over the arena. 'Good.' Operator thinks, 'Let them be scared.'
He turns to his microphone again, then say, "Release the Finder.'
