does it worth wasteing my ce on a key
forget the armor you can craft
does the heat/loot/crowns worth it?
is shadow key worth it?
450 energy, at 8,000 crowns per 100 energy, costs 36,000 crowns. You may spend some Sparks of Life (or energy for them). What you get is a fair number of crowns (someone else will supply a number) and a material. The material doesn't command nearly as high a price as it once did, but it's something. You can check the Auction House. If my vague estimates are correct, you lose money overall. However:
A. Shadow Lairs are a fun challenge. In my opinion, every player should try to do every Shadow Lair at least once, just for the enjoyable experience. The point of playing a game is to have fun, after all.
B. The Sanctuary Alchemy Machine does not require recipes. In other words, it has the recipes built-in. Thus a Snarbolax Coat costs 25,000 crowns less than a Skolver Coat (for example). Unless you truly have no interest in any of the armor, you might want to figure that savings into the cost of your run.
Heat won't matter thanks to the new level up system :v
Crown farming isn't optimal either due to free elevators. Shadow Lairs are long.
Say in the time it takes to do 1 Ice Queen, you could pop like 5 regular jellies and get even.
Split the cost amongst party members and it's great IMO.
I believe WAY back in the day (Back when Exileddread was the greatest terror of the LD scene), a few elite guilds would run the Shadow Lair FSC for a profit. Split the cost of the key, start at Emberlight, hit a few Arenas on the way, and walk out with about 20k crowns and 6 Almirian Seals. 1 Almirian Seal is worth 1k crowns, and then sell the Maiden's Tear for well over 30k back then. There may be people who even do this now, but I don't think it's as profitable.
YUP! You dont make a whole lot but its always profitable on elite now......no elevator cost remember. Oh and only if u split the key
But thats only for UFSC and UIMF......snarb and IQ not cause the mat doesn't sell for IQ and snarb you only make 8-10k
Although do try and do one in a party of 4, because you'll split the cost, making it cheaper.
Normal Shadow key - 1,800ce
1 Player - 1,800CE per
2 Players - 900CE per
3 Players - 600CE per
4 Players - 450CE per
Plus it's more fun when you do them with other people.
You won't make any profit, but they're a load of fun. :) Also make sure that you're prepared!
If it's on Elite, I believe you get slightly more than 12k plus the mat, which could sell for around 20k (maybe less, maybe more). Compare that to 450 CE at 8.2k per 100 right now... that's like 37k. So no, you won't profit. But hey, it's loads of fun to do one!
