Blast Jelly Mail? (Piercing Armor for Bombers)

Ever noticed how Swordsmen and Gunners all have sets for elemental, piercing and shadow defense, and yet Bombers only have Elemental armors? What if we made piercing bomber armor out of Blast Cubes?

-Defense: Same Piercing defense as a Volcanic Bomber Set's Normal defense, same Normal defense as a Volcanic Demo Suit's Elemental defense

-Status resistance: negative resistances vs. Fire, and maybe Shock (because it's armor made out of what looks like the SK equal to napalm jelly, which you shouldn't set on fire :P), same Stun resistance as Royal Jelly armor

-Bonuses: Bomb CTR Low and Bomb Damage Med on each piece? (Balancing is tough stuff and it made my head hurt)

-Materials needed: 20 Red Shards, 5 Gel Drops, 4 Gel Cores, 3 Unstable Cores, 2 Rocky Cores, 1 Flame Soul, 3 Eternal Alchemy Orbs, and a Rock Jelly armor piece. No, it cannot be made out of a Demo Suit because this counts as Jelly armor.

I have no idea what the tooltip would say about this armor. Also, I claim no expertise when it comes to bombing as my only experience is being a Guardian Bomber-Hybrid in t2 LD, and I just wanted to throw this idea out there, because it seems weird that Bombers get no protection from Flourishes and Polyp attacks, yet everyone else does. Comments, critiques, and words to help balance this armor out will be appreciated. I need to know if anything is wrong or right with this idea. Also, if someone beat me to this idea, please point the thread to me, because when I searched it up, all I found were threads from the Bazaar. :P

Just while we're at it...

why not a shadow bomber suit made out of bombies with similar stats? (Don't think we have a shadow bomber suit yet. Right?)

Yes. We need one too. :D

Maybe reverse the bonuses (more CTR, less damage) because while Blast Cubes come in ones or twos and explode big time, levels with Bombies tend to spam them at the poor Knight who happened to be there. XD

Oh god,

Don't even get me started on those things. Going through Ghosts in the Machine is just dreadfully painful for me because of them.

Yeah.

I tried that mission. I died horribly. We may have to get back on topic though. XD

Nice idea, bad stats

now before anyone bashes my post, i COMPLETELY AGREE that bombers need shadow and piercing armor.

now on to my point. giving the armor ctr low and damage med seems kinda overkill. that would essentially make it completely better than Bombastic set, which only gives damage med per piece. even mad bomber, which gives damage and ctr med per piece has massive negative resists, making it somewhat balanced. my advice is to one of 3 things

1) increase negative effects. this means lowering the base defense or having more negative resistances(although not as much as mad bomber, maybe just 3 attributes)

2)decrease positive effects. this means giving it only damage low and ctr low per piece. this way, you can give it less negative resistances and be a more defensive set as opposed to an offensive one like mad bomber.

3)rebuff existing armors. i.e make Bombastic set shadow and maybe mad bomber pierce(idk which should be which its up yo you)

EDIT: after re-reading your post i see that you DID add negative effects to it. so yea, just make it negative fire and shock, has to be both.

+1, let's not forget the shadow coverage from the Kat Hiss line.

I am completely down with this idea. However, I would make it an armor set line starting at 3*, so it can see useage in Tier 2 Lockdown as well, to correspond with the three different kinds of Blast Cubes.

Wheter it would be part of the Jelly armor set or be its own line like the Quicksilver armor set should be up for discussion as well.

As for changing other demo armor sets, I would rather have Bombastic retain its Elemental properties (it's the direct and conclusive follow up of the rest of the earlier Demo line, after all) and Mad Bomber switch for Shadow defenses.

Gee.

It was directed at the defense swap, not the bonuses.

But your argument against a defense swap doesn't make sense.

Like compare a Wolver Coat. The skolver line retains the same bonus and defense (like volcanic to spiral demo).
Then there's vog, an upgrade with a different bonus and different defense altogether.

Why can't bombastic follow the same logic?

@Little-Juances

Because fire is more problematic to bombers than freeze, and vice-versa for swordsmen, so it's the primary upgrade.
