Q: How come I can't pass the mission "Time to Get Crafty"?
A: You need to have BOTH a Hot Edge and a Frost Gun in your inventory that can be acquired by the AH, crafting via the recipes you got, or if you are the luckiest player in SK, as a drop from boxes. Be sure that you do not have these items equipped, however the weapons you turn in do not have to be bound nor unbound. You cannot do this mission more than once.

Q: How come people don't want to take me to EFSC?
A: If you don't have either a Blitz Needle, Plague Needle, or a Shivermist Buster, or possibly decent elemental/shadow armor, then of course you will not want to be taken to Elite, however, some players will gladly take you to either Advanced or Normal difficulty. And please, no asking to go to FSC of ANY difficulty if your equipment contains 3* items. That is what RJP is for.

Q: What are the best locations to find Orbs?
A: 1*= The Collecter, 2*= Snarbolax/Faith ih Armor, 3*= Depth 9/9-11 Arcade run spam (try to go to arenas), 4*= Rise or Fall, 5*= EFSC/In Cold Blood/The Great Escape. Ignore most enemies and go straight for boxes.

Q: How do I get a profile pic?
A: Next to the search bar, click on Forum Preferences, then click the desired picture.

Q: How do I use the Forge?
A: Your weapon/armor that you wish to forge must have the orange heat bar COMPLETLY filled. Next, you should open the Forge and input the maximum possible Fire Crystals (NEVER go less because you will end up spending more by using the 20-70% chance of success). Repeat 5-8 more times for each item (not necessary for 0* or 2* items).

Q: Where to find Fire Crystals?
A: Buy 0-1* crystals via Vatel, 2*= S1-S3 runs, 3*=S4 runs, 4*= In Cold Blood, 5*= EFSC. DO NOT BUY CRYSTALS FROM THE AH OR FROM THE SUPPLY DEPOT OR FROM OTHER PLAYERS AS YOU ARE MUCH BETTER OF FARMING FOR THEM!!!

Q: When should I buy a UV ticket?
A: Really, never. If you want a ticket, upgrade the item to 5*, fully heat it, and promise you will almost always use that item, then open a Forge Prize box and use that UV ticket on that item. Don't start a tanterum if you got Beast low on your WRH.

If you have or know any other commonly asked questions, be sure to post it up here so that other players can see.

Re your Q/A about the Forge,

Re your Q/A about the Forge, with 3* gear only go to level 5, that is the minimum required level to upgrade to 4* so heating it further is a waste of crystals, unless you do not intend to upgrade the item to 4*. For instance, heating gear for tier 2 Lockdown.

You should always fully heat 3* items for the chance of boxes.

Forge Prize Boxes

Sadly, there are only 4* and 5* Forge boxes. No 3* boxes.

Same here. Level 5 Sealed Sword gave me a 3-uv ticket.

Can someone else come up with some other FAQs?

To add to the thread:

INTRODUCING...THE SLIGHTLY-LESS-FAQS! (Questions asked infrequently)

Q: How come so many people are killing everyone in Lockdown?
A: Vanguards have crafted optimized x* gear so they can massacre the lower star players. Just don't play. It's a waste of crowns.

Q: Why didn't I get any prestige from the daily mission?
A: Most likely, you tagged along with a higher tier knight and went to a depth you shouldn't be in. You don't get mission rewards at those depths.

Q: Who is Luguiru?
A: THE DEMON ITSELF!!!!

Actually, he's a forum poster (obviously) who critiques people based on the intelligence of their posts. For a new recruit, this criticism can be a bit...brutal, let's say. He uses slapstick comedy to make his judging all the more mocking.

Q: Why can't I edit the wiki on Steam?
A: Currently, Steam users are unable to update the wiki due to a bug (I may or may not be out-of-date).

Q: Why is there a certain level in the Clockworks (I think Sky Islands, but it might be Aurora) that has a stone wall blocking off players, but the minimap shows it extending?
A: It used to be a danger room where a now obsolete monster (giant green jelly) would spawn. It was removed because recruits were getting massacred by the several hundred ton acidic cubes.

Q: How do I get a thread to be stickied?
A: Ah. This is a very difficult procedure. You must utilize the power of a mythical creature called...the Game Master. It's legends are...well...legendary (who saw that coming a mile away?). It's rumored to possess great, unearthly, unHUMAN powers. In order to attract it's attention, the thread must have one of the following:
-A good topic. Game Masters are ruthless hunters, and they seek only the most flavorful prey they can find.
- It was started by the legendary Game Masters themselves. Though vicious, they are (sort of) benevolent - at least, they do not want unnecessary deaths to occur. Thus, they have created, let us say guides, that can help tenderfoots navigate this maze of many places.
However, do NOT be fooled by their kind words, their helpful advice, their seeming innocence. If you turn on them, they will shred you to pieces, and leave you to rot.

Beware, young ones. Take care to not cross the famed Game Master.

Q: Is this less-than-FAQ kind of pointless?
A: Sadly, yes.

Q: What is a Game Master?
A: A Game Master is a paragon of power, surrounded in a misty cloak of legend and shadow. Sorry. Did that sound too cheesy? Hope you're not allergic to dairy...
Anyways. Game Master. Right.
Humorous Version
Legend. Mystery. A habit of taking Greek names. All surround the mythical, mystical, (possibly) musical Game Master. They say that one swipe with its sword (or blast with its gun) (or [insert explosion noise here] with its bomb) (or [blank] with whatever nonvanilla weapon they use) can shatter a depth itself. Of course, they were also drunk at the time, so it's not a very credible source. (They also said the Game Masters were secretly Popcorn People who were trying to summon Argrath the 985th, named that because he couldn't think of a better name, to bring them butter and salt.) A Game Master is rumored to be capable of bending space and time, summoning objects from seemingly nowhere. Another theory is that each GM has an individual pocket dimension that has infinite capacity and contains virtually anything (guess who has unlimited smoothies?). Additionally, each Game Master has taken the name of a Greek deity/hero ('s wife). Why? No one knows. Speculation is rampant. Were they actually Greeks who drank from the Fountain of Life AND Knowledge? Wait, I think I just mushed a ton of religions together. Or were they immortal, omniscient aliens hailing from Bok McBok, a planet so obscure you never heard about it until NOW? Or were they secretly a subspecies of butterflies that are adept at creating semi-real illusions? No one knows. All that they know is that you had better watch out if you cross one's path.
(Slightly) More Serious Version
Game Masters are Spiral Knights operatives who try to improve your daily (or nightly) Knightly experience. (BADUM-tsss) They take their names from Greek myth or natural phenomena, such as weather. They can be one at any time. At night (or day) these knightly knights, while others have nightmares, will search the game for issues that bug these knightly knights at night (or day). It's a legal job that pays, and grants the following benefits:
-Able to sticky threads.
-Special Game Master only gear.
-Turn invisible at will and walk through any barrier.
-Join parties past the 4-member limit.
-Have all their text in-game in purple.
-Summon pills/capsules at will.
-Money in real life.
-Instant fame in the Spiral Knights community.
-Something else.
-I can't be bothered to remember it.

Um...sorry but can I know how to forge a weapon to another level?? Like forging a 2 star weapon to a 3 star weapon?? I'm kinda new so plz help me out!!

Bopp's picture
Bopp
that's not forging

When you increase an item from one heat level to the next, that's forging.

When you increase the star level of an item, that's not forging; that's crafting. Read the wiki page "Crafting".
