Recently, it has been brought to my attention that me have a serious need for shadow swords. I mean seriously, we have 2. Introducing...
Jorlensang, the Harvester of Souls. 5* weapon (Or you can just call it the Reaper)
"A blade that contains a powerful dark spirit, so sharp it can separate a person and their spirit in a single slash. Rumor has it that the blade slowly takes over the wielders mind, twisting them to it's will. But that's just a rumor."

We have a slow speed shadow sword, the gran faust, and a medium speed shadow sword, the aecheron so I put this in as our high speed shadow sword. (Think Final Flourish)

The basic attack combo has 4 attacks. The first is a 360 spin dealing low damage to all enemies with a 1.25 tile reach (from the knight), BUT instead of pushing them outward, it draws them in, pulling them .5 blocks toward you. This attack cannot be shield canceled, to prevent infinite inescapable damage loops, esp. in LD. This attack deals as much damage as a cutter of the same star level. The next two attacks are the same, a slash and a lunge, like the second attack of a brandish, and also with similar damage, but slightly lower. The final "finisher" is a wide slash, like the first hit of a Divine Avenger, dealing the same as the final hit of a brandish. Basically, what this full combo does, is pull enemies into a clump, then you break free with the second and third attacks, and finish with the last hit; at least that's how I envisioned it. So, attempting to represent it with symbols, the full combo from a birds eye view looks like this:

O - - )

Moving on... The charge attack is where this weapon is AMAZING (IMO and it might be possibly OP, please discuss, and tell me). It has an extremely short charge time, to compare, the same charge time as a catalyzer, and has 2 possible outcomes, depending on when, and how you use it. While charging you are slowed, as if you were charging a Big Angry Bomb, and when you use it, your character throws the sickle 7 tiles in front of you. Now here's where the variation comes in. If you hit a enemy, it drags the enemy to you (unless it's rooted in place, like a turret, in which case the second outcome happens), dealing high damage, and has a slight chance to cause moderate stun (suggested by Hyperdreigon). However, if it hits the ground, you are pulled to it dealing damage to enemies in your way, and knocking them back. This second outcome of the charge attack is like the hammer's dash, but with less damage, and higher range. So, symbol form again.

"E" represents the enemy
"P" represents the player
"_" represents 1 tile.

Outcome #1
E_ _ _ _ _ _ P <-- Before
E ≤≤≤≤≤≤ P <-- During the use.
_ _ _ _ _ _E P <-- After

Outcome #2
_ _ _ _ E _ _ P <-- Before
_ ≤≤≤≤E≤≤ P <-- During the use.
E P _ _ _ _ _ _ <-- After

First few people please tell me if those diagrams help. If not, I'll remove them. Thanks!

Olanar, The Nightmare Launcher (or you can just call it Bob)
"Attempting to combine Apocrean creations with Skylark technology may not have been the best idea. Weaker knights have been consumed by this weapon and have gone into comas, as if their souls had been stolen. On a completely unrelated note, this gun fires powerful orbs that almost seem alive."

Ok, so after some deliberation, I decided to add a gun to the mix as well. It deals shadow damage, has the same projectile size and shape as an Umbra Driver, and it has a 10 shot combo, each shot dealing half as much as a Sentenza would. But here's the catch: Each shot has a range of 3. Ok, so that may seem underpowered; "Agra, I could just get myself a cutter." Nope, I got a little surprise for this gun. If the shots do not hit an enemy they stop, and become rooted in place for a minute, or until an enemy walks into them, whichever comes first.

"E" represents the enemy that is almost dead.
"P" represents the player
"_" represents 1 tile.
"B" represents a bullet.

Outcome #1 (this is kind of given...)
E _ _ P <-- Before
_ _ _ P <-- After the shot

Outcome #2
_ _ _ P <-- Before
B _ _ P <-- After the shot
E _ _ P <-- When an enemy walks into the shot
_ _ _ P <-- After an enemy walks into the shot

I personally love the idea of the charge attack. When charging you actually move faster, like you had a movement speed increase low, and the charge time is very long; for comparison, twice that of a Gran Faust. When you use the ability, your character becomes rooted in place, like an autogun line charge attack, and all the normal bullets that are still in existence start to home in on you, like rocket puppy rockets. If they encounter an enemy on the way, they deal damage to it, and disappear. If it encounters a gate, wall or unbreakable block, it will disappear. If it runs into a breakable obstacle, it acts as though a normal shot had hit the obstacle, and disappears. Once a bullet reaches you, it begins to rotate around your character, like a barrier item, or the drakon's second ability. It will continue doing this until all the bullets are circling your character. Then after about a half a second they all explode, dealing high damage and a good chance of strong stun, and moderate chance of moderate poison. If you will, this is kind of like a catalyzer but the bullets stick to the player.

"E" represents the enemy that is almost dead.
"P" represents the player
"_" represents 1 tile.
"B" represents a bullet.
"R" represents a bullet that is rotating around the player
"O" represents a breakable obstacle, aka a bush.

This is going to be hard.. ¬_¬
Diagram not drawn to scale.
B _ _ _ _ _ E _ _ _ _ _ _ _ P _ _ B O _ _ B <-- Before
_ _ B _ _ _ E _ _ _ _ _ _ _ P R _ _ O B _ _ <-- During
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ P R _ _ _ _ _ _ <-- After the shot hit's the enemy on it's way in, and the bullet hits the breakable obstacle on it's way in.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ [insert explosion here] _ _ <-- About a half a second after the previous illustration
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ P _ _ _ _ _ _ _ <-- After

Ok, I decided to go the whole 9 yards, and charge, then place a bomb to this compilation of brilliant ideas. Meet my latest creation, a shadow bomb titled: Banide, the Evolutionary Explosive. (Or BEE for short).
"Recovered from deep within the Apocrean Realms, it pulsates with power. It grows more powerful over time, before exploding with dark energy."

The normal attack for... wait... I mean, the way this bomb works is rather complex, compared to those lame boom boom fireworks stuff you all are probably used to. It starts off the same, with a charge time the same as a mist bomb, with the same walk speed as a mist bomb, and you place it. And that's where it get's funny. The circle you see on the ground is only the size of that of a blast bomb. Same detonation time... but wait... it didn't explode... the circle increased to the size of a super blast bomb's radius... but it still didn't explode... and there's the expanding circle again, but now it's nitronome sized? What the... am I lagging? Hey! it exploded this time! And what's this weird gunk on the floor?

Okay! Explanation time. Basically what happens is, when you place it, it starts off like a blast bomb. If there is an enemy inside of its radius when the fuse time ends, it explodes, dealing the same amount of damage as a super blast bomb. If there isn't an enemy inside however, the bomb changes color, to orange, and the radius expands to the radius of a master blast bomb. Again, if there is an enemy inside the radius when the fuse time ends, it explodes dealing the same amount of damage as a nitronome, however, at this stage it also has a good chance of inflicting moderate stun. If there is still no enemy within the radius? Then the bomb changes color to red, and the radius expands a final time to the same size as a nitronome, and when the fuse time ends, the bomb explodes, dealing the same amount of damage as a Big Angry Bomb, and clouding the area with a purple-ish mist, that lasts about 7.5 seconds, for comparison, twice as long as a mist bomb. While in the mist, you and your allies gain a movement speed increase low, a damage increase low, and everyone has a universal charge time reduction of maximum.

This is going to be bad, but whatever...
"R" represents the maximum radius of the bomb.
"B" represents the bomb.
"A" represents an ally.
"S" represents an ally with movement speed.
"E" represents an enemy that is almost dead.
"M" represents the maximum range of the mist.

Phase One, Outcome #1
_ E _ _ _ <-- Before
R E B _ R <-- During
_ _ _ _ _ <-- After

Phase One, Outcome #2
_ _ _ _ _ <-- Before
R _ B _ R <-- During
_ _ B _ _ <-- After

Phase Two Outcome #1
_ _ E B _ _ _ <-- Before Phase 2 begins. (Right after Phase 1 ends)
R _ E B _ _ R <--During
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ <-- After

Phase Two Outcome #2
_ _ _ B _ _ _ <-- Before Phase 2 begins. (Right after Phase 1 ends)
R _ _ B _ _ R <--During
_ _ _ B _ _ _ <-- After

Phase Three Part 1
_ _ _ E B _ A _ A <-- Before Phase 3 begins. (Right after Phase 2 ends)
_ R _ E B _ A R A <--During
_ M _ _ _ _ S M A <-- After
_ _ _ _ _ _ A _ A <-- About 7.5 seconds later

Well, I tried... but meh...

Where does all this come into the game? Well, I thought perhaps we could have this be something players could try and earn throught the course of the Dark harvest festival. Buy the sword from Maskwell for 150 sour candies, the gun for 150 sweet candies, and the bomb for 150 hard candies, or receive it in a Hallow prize box as a really really really rare prize. (Thanks Hexzyle for the Dark Harvest Item idea.) Alternatively, this could be the rewards for the next time the Apocrean mission rolls around, if it ever does... Just because the descriptions relate to the Apocreans so well.

Well, thanks for reading through my suggestion, support, R&R, whatever

Cheers,
Agra-Zero ^_^

I don't get this whole "there aren't any shadow weapons" thing. There are only 2 shadow weapon mechanics... and only 4 elemental... and only 1 piercing.

Yes, but there are far more elemental than shadow, and does a chain sickle really fit under pierce?

I thought we were already getting a Shadow sword. Are you suggesting this ontop of/with that or are you just suggesting it because "Dark Harvest is coming up and you thought it would be a good idea since it's Dark Harvest"?

if this was a soul reaver reference I was going to kill someone. you're half dead agra.
mechanics seem nice, but the initial slash could put it into the dangerous position of "difficult to use", which would appease me and some others and piss off all the rest.

"I thought we were already getting a Shadow sword."

Why did you think that?

Thanks for all the comments!

@Hyperdreigon yea, actually that seems like a good idea. Will edit...

@Hexzyle tbh, even if we were getting a new shadow sword, I'd love to have it added in anyway (of course I would, it's my own idea :P) But I think this would fit into the Dark Harvest perfectly... will add in, thanks!

@Thunder-The-Bright I have no idea what a soul reaver is(are?), and I intended this to have a higher learning curve, this weapon was meant to help entertain those vets who have nothing better to do, as well as those who want a fun and challenging weapon.

There has been enough

There has been enough spoilers floating about before this thread was created to suggest that soon people will be walking around with Volcanic Glasses. But they won't go on your face...

When you're this swag this world just bows at your knees.

I think his comment is hinting at the origins and physical texture of Obsidian.
