Now that you've officially shown you don't care whether or not something is overpowered

Can shards have their hit limit removed and damage increased to its old values? I promise to quit all of my snark.

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

I still don't know how the crap you are supposed to tri-shard something, but they could use some love. much, much love.

It's a Concrete Jungle out there

@Thunder: Big monsters like Lumbers, Giant Lichen Colonies, most bosses, and now the Apocrean Harvester can easily be hit with three or more shards. Being able to do things like smack the Royal Jelly with the entirety of a Rock Salt Bomb or blast Vanaduke with 5-8 increments of Shard damage AND chances of Stun would make the Shards good big-monster-killers. (And let's face it. Once you learn how to really dodge those arms, you want your sweet revenge on Cthulhu's Little Helper, and Shard Bombs would be GREAT bombs for that without a hit limit. Small range so you don't accidentally wreck graves.)

It is fairly clear that balance comes second to their primary goal of garnering more players. After the energy update, they have been releasing promos more or less on a weekly basis, knowing that each new (or re-hashed) promo causes a player spike.

This is probably the most important metric for them, especially as a small company. It allows them to turn to Sega during 3rd quarter reviews and say they made x amount of increased profit and player base thanks to changes in energy system, sprites, etc.

Because Lockdown itself (or bombs in general, compared to the more appealing notion of knights using swords and guns) won't increase # of players, it will always be 2nd compared to the PvE experience--and in PvE people like to feel overpowered.

@Momo

and in PvE people like to feel overpowered.

I don't want to feel overpowered because I have a piece of loot that is unbalanced, I want to feel overpowered because I can take any item and be a god with it. That's my fantasy when I play the game, and the fantasy requires balances. I feel dissatisfied with the game when I use shards for example and they're just so weak.

I don't feel very overpowered at all when I use my shard bomb and it does 0 damage due to invincitinks.

They need some love, badly

I remember using a rock salt bomb on JK, but afterwards I sold it because shard bombs are so horrid. I feel bad for them because they seem like weapons that could be really good. But they're only really good for PERFECT conditions. :/

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Naw just add invincitinks to the Iron Slug. THEN Zeddy will stop complaining.

+1 to removing invincitinks.

/sigh

Make Iron Slug have infinite clip size.

(This is clearly sarcasm, fyi. Just buff it reasonably, not brokenly.)

/think Getting off topic...maybe.

Clearly we need to make it so Winmillion shoots Iron Slug bullets (same power as currently) instead of the tiny energy discs!

naw man, not off topic at all

iron slugs that shoot brandish charges

Shard bombs should atleast be made good as they replaced a great weapon.

The coding of the Retro Sun Shards has to be laying around somewhere...
