I can enter my name and

I can enter my name and password, but if I select a character to start playing I get disconnected. There are other accounts on my IP, one paid and one not.

Users with a Linksys WRT54G wireless router have been having issues since the 5/17 patch. If you think that your router may be to blame, take the ethernet cable out of the back of the router, and plug it directly into your computer. If you can log in with a direct connection to your modem, you may need to update your router firmware or play on a wired connection.

Note that the WRT45G model is about 8 years old at this point, and no longer has firmware updates and Linksys no longer provides support for the first versions of the router.

Also, players with new problems should start their own threads.

That's exactly why the DD-WRT "fix" is so good. It breaths a lot of new life into these devices. I'll have to add this issue to the Performance Issues list in the Wiki, it's certainly not random.
