OOO really has to think before doing things. Why buff Acheron? You don't care about the troika family? Shard bomb family? Plate armor family? Also the new sword is like a sucky Acheron with poison. Shouldn't the expansion weapon be stronger? Acheron shouldn't be as strong as a heavy weapon. I don't think it is fair that you and just hit someone twice with an acheron and they die. That is too strong. I understand that Grand Faust was very overpowered, but this makes no sense. I hardly ever say things should be nerfed, but this is going too far. You make good weapons with good concepts like the spur, and you give them no love. Then you give all the love to your favorite, over powered weapons. Why can't you just do something simple without screwing up? I am pretty sure it is not that hard. Just bring Acheron to it's old self or lower it's power, and give the obsidian blade the buff that Acheron had. (not making it as strong as GF though.

I believe the Acheron needed to have been buffed with the Obsidian Blade being added, just not as high as it was. Three Rings only changed its damage tables because a new "version" of the weapon was added.
Seeing as this is a reoccurring event, I don't exactly see why we should make the always-available one so much more powerful.
The way I see it the pre-buff acheron was in a good spot for a non-status weapon. All the other brandishes should have been nerfed instead (including edge). This way Acheron would still be the strongest and you could trade the damage for a status with the others. Buffing the Acheron was the absolute worst way to bring up the Edge.

To be fair, it shouldn't be doing more damage than flourishes against beasts, but who cares? The game will always have numerous balance issues. The devs just don't seem to care.
Ha ha! Don't you realize it? The Acherons control weak-minded knights! The reason for buffing them is so every knight gets one, therefor making many, many more weak-minded knights wield them! It's a plot, guys! We'll have a hoard of braindead knights attacking us if we don't do something about it!

This is clearly an omen to the darkness consuming us all, allowing our weapons forged from its depths to overpower anything else.
I suppose if any weapon is going to be overpowered, a shadow weapon would make the most sense... But that doesn't mean I have to like it.
Lore is not an adequate excuse for something to be unbalanced.
Better yet, nerf all Brandishes because guess what, they aren't less OP than before just because Acheron is the second to most powerful weapon in the game now.
The Trioka family as well as many other weapons have been lacking for a while and it has nothing to do with Acheron. Nerfing Acheron won't fix problems with other weapons so to do so would serve absolutely zero purpose.
If anything you should be advocating buffs to weapons you think are underpowered and make a case as to why you think that.
Sadly, lore-based-content is exactly why it was buffed (as it gave birth to the obsidian blade). Three Rings seem to hit a gray area when the new content we beg for overlaps with the balance issues, and they always neglect the latter. New content is nice, regardless of the consequences(at least for permanent content). I know I don't speak for everyone, but I'll take a fun new experience to master over a single sword being balanced any day.
Once that content is gone though, I'll complain about the sword like everyone else.
No, it was buffed because it doesn't have a status. That has nothing to do with lore.
Should Gran Faust be nerfed because it deals a status? I mean it deals the same damage as the Acheron which has no status.
Maybe buff DA because it has no status?
Then what about supernova and catalyzer? True, expanded supernova shots technically deal more and so do charged catalyzer explosions compared to polaris and biohazard, but what's to say the same for normal non-expanded shots and charges of supernova and normal shots of catalyzer?
Why couldn't they just nerf the other brandishes because they deal status?
Callahan? Iron slug? They shouldn't be touched for dealing separate damage types? Is that it?
What about carbine and sentenza? A damage gremlin med that is worthless if you have damage maximum justifies it?
Honestly speaking, I'm done complaining. There are many things that are worth debating in this game, but I'd rather spend time enjoying it, even if it's broken.
Troika is a fine weapon. The only reason it's not adviced is because bringing it means you'll be left in the dust from the rest of the team instagibbing everything with their brandishes. If Brandishes and Sealeds were nerfed, a lot of 'underpowered' weapons would suddenly become 'balanced' weapon.
they should at least remove the buff to normal swings. That seems to be the main problem, and Obsidian Edge doesn't do status with its normal swings either so no need for Acheron to be more powerful there.

+1 to the Acheron nerf. It currently does more damage to Beasts than Barbarous Thorn Blade does, and it significantly stronger than Gran Faust. Definitely needs to go back to the way it was.
-1 to buffing Obsidian Blade. I'm not even going to explain this one. Compare Plague Needle to Blitz. Why should this situation be different. And before you tell me you need to work harder for Obsidian Blade, remember what you need to do to get Plague Needle.
