Bearing in mind that these forums are just part a game where (mostly) bored teenage boys sound off and goof around, my advice for enjoying the forums is:
1) Try not to take things too personally.
2) Report people you think need to be reported.
3) Ignore rude and insulting posters. Do not respond or engage with them in anyway.
4) Also ignore people who make multiple meaningless threads. Do not give them the attention they so desperately crave as it just encourages them to continue the bad behavior.
5) Try to have something worthwhile to say, and say it in an interesting way.
6) Proofread and polish your posts.
7) Last but not least, try to read and follow the Forum Rules and Help found in the sticky thread at the top of these forums.
"1) Try not to take things too personally."
You really really sure about that? Reconsider it.
"2) Report people you think need to be reported."
That'd be devastating.
"3) Ignore rude and insulting posters. Do not respond or engage with them in anyway."
Seems legit.
"4) Also ignore people who make multiple meaningless threads. Do not give them the attention they so desperately crave as it just encourages them to continue the bad behavior."
That's impossible. It's how forums usually work, can't do much about it other than ranting and fighting back.
"5) Try to have something worthwhile to say, and say it in an interesting way."
You excel at doing that.
"6) Proofread and polish your posts."
In terms of spelling and grammar, I agree. But I'd rather have people polish the ideas of their posts, this is what we need.
"7) Last but not least, try to read and follow the Forum Rules and Help found in the sticky thread at the top of these forums."
I bet you memorized that.
