Obsidian Edge charge vs shielded enemies

We were all proven wrong by ourselves regarding the Obsidian weapons in the end. They were different because they were easier to break block with! Obsidian Edge is considered inferior to Acheron but I'm thinking that it has an edge (hah) over its non-status counterpart and that's the charge's improved block breaking mechanics vs enemies that have shields such as Mecha Knights, Gremlin Mortars, and Gremlin Thwackers.

Sadly, this thought only struck me today as I was running O:CH and I've done no proper observation, analysis, or recording. Any thoughts or facts on the matter?

I'm not too bright

Sorry, but I don't understand. Is this a joke that I'm not getting? Does "block" mean enemy shield? How does Obsidian Edge help? Thanks.

Ah, it appears I forgot an 's'. That one oh so important 's', making the difference between block in plural and the block of a shield.

What I meant with blocks is breakable blocks that you find all over the Clockworks. Acheron's explosions and Sentenza's hawk aren't quite as good at breaking these as the tentacles of Obsidian Edge and Obsidian Carbine are. I figured that this behaviour might also be of interest in combat vs enemies that have shields of various sorts that halt these charge attacks just like breakable blocks do.
Pardon the misunderstanding.

interesting

I haven't noticed that Obsidian Edge breaks blocks better than Acheron. Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try.

I have no idea about defeating shields, though. If you run insightful tests, please report back. :)

Will do! I posted here because I was hoping maybe someone else had taken a look at it but I guess I'm one pioneering research of mechanics nowadays.
