After having stopped playing Spiral Knights since the release until like a year ago, I didn't have a knowledge base on how the technical stuff works, outside the game that is. After creating a new account on my other, non-official steam account, I soon figured out that a computer is only allowed a single FREE ACCOUNT.
I realised that in order to have multiple accounts on a single IP, you'd have to have a paid account for the energy to regenerate in the normal pace. Well I didn't know that, and now that my main steam account has this thing where it doesn't regenerate energy at all and the energy bar thing has disappeared leaving me with my old account on a different Steam which inevitably I trashed because reasons (I've also forgot the username and password). And now, I'm experiencing technical difficulties or at least I think I am.
Here's the situation:
1) Main steam account (THIS) isn't a paid account and it doesn't work like how a normal free account would.
2) I assume this is an IP side thing. A single account for a single IP.
3) I forgot what my previous account was :I
And because I'm getting a new laptop, in a month's time, including a whole new internet provider, I was wondering if said main account would change back to an ordinary free account if I logged in with the new system. Or has the whole single account, single IP thing been embedded into my main steam account rendering it utterly useless? If that's so, do the admins have the power to change it? I guess this is the consequences of poor planning, always the nuances in the technicals that really screw you up bad.
First of all, core gameplay aspects have been completely revised and altered. Mist energy no longer exists. So no more complaining about energy.
Secondly, the energy sharing system is a client sided system. It just bases off whichever clients you log your accounts into.
