Special Ending 1 Achieved.
Alright. So. Strom has unleashed most of his Swarm Abilities at this point, so I'm gonna copy and paste the completed information of his attacks and appearance on this post with a short summary of what they do... Most of them haven't changed at all, though. The way Strom will be fighting will have also changed... So keep that in mind.
Appearance: Strom's physical features haven't changed much since his first form, with the exception of a couple of areas on his armor and such.
- His color scheme: Strom's color scheme has changed. All black areas of his armor no longer reflect light, and cubes of swarm-energy flow off of them. The aura around swarm has become mainly black as well, with streaks of Magenta energy erupting at random intervals. All areas of his armor have this rippling effect now. His armor itself has flack puzzle-like-lines etched within it, but has otherwise stayed the same.
- Both of Strom's hidden weapons have been revealed. He had sealed away the Épée he used during his life time within his own body. The Swarm's corruption caused the blade to become just as black as the void which makes up the majority of Strom's body. It looks sort of like this, but with a thin pink line along its edge with magenta energy flowing out of it like fire. It also has a one swarm-eye attached to each curve. The eyes are small, so only a veeeeeeery precise strike will be able to hit them. There's no guarantee that strikes to these eyes will halt the sword anyways, so I'd personally recommend fending it off and avoiding it when possible.
- Strom's chest previously had a large pink crystal within it, which Keep destroyed. It was then a gaping hole... And has now filled with magenta energy, rippling outwards into Strom's pitch-black body. I mentioned in the original post that this may have been his weakness, but that was just to see if people would take my "maybe" for real, or if they would look past it. I sort of intended for it to get hit, but Strom's weakness isn't the crystal.
Instead, destroying the crystal unleashed his Sword, which is the first hidden ending. If you manage to defeat Strom, the corruption surrounding his sword will be undone, and the weapon will remain. - Also mentioned within the first info-post was that there might be something other than smoke within Strom's helmet. I didn't lead on people to beleive that it was his true weakness, 'cause that would be too simple. Anyways, Strom's own Eye of the Swarm is within his helmet, and he was nice enough to rip off his mask and leave it open for striking. Isn't he considerate? Stab at the eye enough times, you win. Simple as that.
Well, I say simple... But it's gonna be hard to approach Strom with his Sword, which accelerates very quickly (more info on it below), and the four Swarm-Doppelgängers standing in the knights' paths. But the damage sustained by the knights seems to carry over slightly to Strom himself... Use that to your knights advantage after they realize this for themselves.
Abilities: Strom's abilities will now all be revealed to you. But that doesn't mean that your characters should know about them, or their limitations -- remember that. I'll indicate which ones should be known, and which ones shouldn't at this point to make things simple.
- Phantom form: Never ended up using this. But if Strom makes his escape at some point, it'll look the same as indicated in the original post.
This ability should be known by the knights, so long as they've ever been in a graveyard and know what a phantom is. - Armor regeneration: Strom's armor still cannot break, and regenerates. The Void-black parts, however, take longer to recover on the main body, due to them being the connection from Strom's Phantom-form. The armor can still be restrained, if any of your character feels they want to go that way, but after he went into his second stage, Swarm Energy's corruption rate increased A LOT, so it may not be wise to stay in physical contact with any piece of Strom for too long.
The regeneration has been witnessed by Keep and Nyroc, glanses have now been seen by Grell and Isphea. The rate at which the armor, or void-black areas regenerate is probably unknown unless the one who saw it is very observant. Because no void-black areas have been struck yet, its regeneration time in comparison to regular armor is not known to anyone but himself. - Mobile Armor: Strom can still do this... But not while he's touching the Book of the Swarm, because the pulses sent between his own Eye of the Swarm and the book's interfere with his communication with the armor. If Strom puts the Book away, the eye on the book closes, and it no longer interferes with the Mobile Armor. The only exception to the interference when the book is being used is the face-plate (which has been in the direct presence of Strom's Swarm eye for so long that it is basically hard-wired to only respond to it -- this part includes the horned part of the helmet, so watch it. It also includes jagged "teeth, comparable to the Rope-cutter area on a combat knife, located on the bottom of the face-plate.), and Strom's Épée, which has its own Swarm Energy (as seen in the magenta line it gives off). More on the Sword below...
Keep and Nyroc have witnessed this, but have not necessarily noticed its 5m-radius-limitaiton unless they were very observant. Grell and Isphea saw the armor not being attached to Strom, but can't know much else about the it at this point. - Mobile Sword: Strom's Épée has already been described in appearance above. It can accellerate to the speed of a sniper bullet using only 2m of windup, and any distance it has from its target isfast. The sword itself isn't actually controlled by Strom. It has its own "consciousness" of sorts, formed from the emotions poured into it while Strom was alive, and corrupted when Strom came under the influence of the Swarm. It now acts as a sort of "guard dog" to Strom, watching for those that come too close with its own Eyes of the Swarm on its hilt. It can see 360 degrees due to the eyes being on both sides, but using Strom himself as a blind-spot to avoid its wrath may be effective. As I mentioned before, I'd recommend not trying to take out the sword itself, although it is possible it'll take a long time, and the damage trade-offs from fighting it will cause severe damage to quickly pile up. When fighting one-on-one against Strom's Épée, it has a great amount of swiping and piercing strength, even without any windup whatsoever. It's as if you're fighting a Strong-armed swordsman... But without the body.
The sword's capabilities have been seen in the last post, but at this point it isn't known that the sword acts independently. Rate of speed is also not entirely known, because it's only moved once. - Swarm Eye: Strom can still use these, but due to the fact that he no longer has "regular eyes", there is no limit to the amount he can put out. Concentration is no longer needed to maintain them (but due to the fact that everyone other than Caite is fighting from close-up, with Caite not being involved in combat at all (yet), very little concentration was needed to maintain them during combat anyways.) unless he surpasses 10 eyes at once. Not sure why Strom would need so many... But in case it happens, that's when he'll need to concentrate. The Swarm Eyes now glow brighter, making them easier to spot. Any ground/material the Swarm Eyes touch starts going under Swarm Influence, but the amount of time it takes in comparison to touching Strom's armor is very, very slow.
The number of Swarm eyes able to be created is unknown to all but Strom. The only ones who've actually witnessed the Swarm eyes are Syber and Keep, but how much they know about the eyes is up to their intuition, because the eyes didn't really do much during combat other than communicate and seemingly sit there for no apparent reason (due to the fact that no one knows that they can be used as relay-stations to mobile armor. It would be easier to assume that the Mobile armor simply has no limited range at this point, unless a knight that witnessed them being used is very keen). Nyroc may have gotten a glimpse of it while rushing at Strom, but nothing more than that, as it vanished the instant before he attacked. - Swarm Wave: Hasn't been used yet, I plan on using it. Info can be seen in the original post. The range of the attack is now a complete 180 degrees, and the blow itself now has 2x the range as originally mentioned. It takes a second to prepare this move, and there is no longer any clear limit as to how much it can be used due to Strom essentially embracing the Swarm at this point, but Strom won't let the Swarm take him over so easily... So it will be used in modesty. Strom can use this even if he is holding onto the Book of the Swarm. Strom's Épée can also use this attack. Other pieces of Mobile armor cannot use this attack. Swarm-Doppelgängers can use this attack with the original range and cone angles, it takes 3 seconds for them to prepare the strike, but they can use it endlessly with no drawbacks.
No one knows Strom can use this ability other than himself & his sword... Which should be obvious. - Swarm's Touch: After going into stage two, the influence of the Swarm from anything involved with Strom grew tremendously. Touching his mobile armor for over 2 seconds starts to leak its influence onto the area it touches. Non-living items touching anything involved with Strom (excluding armor and other weaponry used by Knights) are influenced almost immediately, and gain the ability to put influence on others themselves at a medium rate. This means that the swarm-influenced grass that Strom and the Swarm-Doppelgängers touched will begin to influence the grass around them unless destroyed. It takes longer for the Swarm influence to be cast off now that it's empowered. About 15 seconds, so long as contact isn't restored between anything Swarm-infested while wearing off.
Note, that special attention I payed to Nyroc when he was hit by Strom's finger is how the Swarm's touch feels when it occurs. But due to the corruption happening before stage two, within Nyroc's next action, the influence will wear off on its own.
Only Nyroc will know that this ability is present at this point. - Book of the Swarm: This move could have technically been used at any point, but it would be triggered for use as soon as Strom reached Stage 2. Now that he hasincredibly fast. The only way to get Strom to stop drawing in it is to either force him to initiate in combat via close-combat, or destroying the book.
You also may have noticed that the Book of the Swarm has its own Eye of the Swarm, which means it's an independent Swarm-item, like Strom's Épée. This also means it won't be restored if damaged. But it's quite sturdy. The "leather" is actually Snarbolax hide coated over with a Rock Jelly sheen. I'll give a back-story as to how and where Strom found this book after the conflict with Strom has been settled.
Also, note that Strom has already drawn a lot of stuff into the book already, including the scene with all the dead wolvers... Expect them to show up if you don't get to destroying the book right away (I'm not even hinting at that, it'll happen). Even miscellaneous drawings, like the flower he drew while heading towards the camp, will prove troublesome if Strom continues to use his book.
Whenever something new is made, in order to generate a mock-Eye-of-the-Swarm, crystals derived from newly made Swarm Creatures must be used to form the eye. The more complex the beast, the more shards required. All repairs to already created monsters don't require anything but ink and the book's pages. Decimating the mock-Eye-of-the-Swarm causes the monster to die for a short time (~30 seconds)... And then Very Slowly regenerate to its intended form on its own.
And since you're going to probably get to destroying the thing right off the bat, now that I've told you how harsh having it in play will be... I'll tell you this, too: Destroying the Book of the Swarm activates the Second Secret Ending (which isn't so secret now that I've told you).
All that's known to the characters about the book at this point is that it can make Swarm-Doppelgängers and repair them, and that it probably has to do with Strom writing or drawing something into his book.
Phew. That took a while to write, my arms kinda hurt.
I'm looking forward to a good battle.
