Hey,I wanna ask something.

Is there any way for me to wear armor and helmet and such without buying them,just to see the outcome of the total stat area,other than the not-so-useful wiki?

I don't think you can, you

I don't think you can, you can preview the appearances and stats at the AH and HOH but you cant see the total stats

Bild des Benutzers Bopp

no, but things just add

I don't know of such a preview feature for armor. Sorry. But you don't need it.

Status resistances add. See the wiki page Abilities to learn the numeric equivalents. My List of 5-Star Items may help you find the numbers quickly. The numbers can help you plan how to achieve status immunity, for example.

Damage bars also appear to add (or, equivalently, to average). It's harder to quantify them. But it's also less important to quantify them, because there is no such thing as damage immunity. In fact, extra damage protection on armor seems not to have a huge effect in the first place. So roughly adding the bars in your mind should be adequate.

To Both Of You

These aren't helping me out,either.

I want to see what happens if I mix 2 diffirent equipment items to see what happens.

If that's not possible,and have TONS of crowns that allows you to buy the stuff I want and still have no problem,you could send me the stats,tho.

- Radiant Silvermail
- Perfect Mask Of Seerus

And please,be Seerus. *rimshot*

Seriously,be serious.I really need this help because I don't want to waste all those crowns for wrong set.

okay, let's work out this example

Let me help you work out this example, and then you'll be able to work out other examples yourself. Check out your two items on my List of 5-Star Items...

* Radiant Silvermail: piercing, shadow, undead+2, poison+4, curse+4
* Perfect Mask of Seerus: normal, elemental, gun CTR+2, gun ASI+1, fire+4, freeze-2, sh+4, po-2

Now you add those stats up, to get the overall effect of the loadout...

* normal: one armor piece's worth (more detail than this is not useful in planning your equipment, at least in PvE)
* piercing: one armor piece's worth
* elemental: one armor piece's worth
* shadow: one armor piece's worth
* fire: +4
* freeze: -2
* shock: +4
* poison: +2
* curse: +4
* CTR+2 on all handguns
* ASI+1 on all handguns
* damage+2 versus undead on all weapons

Make sense?

Bild des Benutzers Epicskunk
Epicskunk
There we go! :D

Now we're talking!

So,I have half protection to Curse,Shock and Fire,quarter protection to Poison and quarter penalty to Freeze.Since I don't get Freeze alot,that's not a problem at all.

Also,All Stat Medium for Guns (Except ASI is Low,not Medium,and damage increase is only for Undead),and Undead Damage Medium for bombs and swords.

It's good?

Maxed Out?

What do you mean?

Bild des Benutzers Bopp

it's okay

I would not call your curse, etc. "half protection". It's +4, on a scale that goes up to +11 usefully and beyond +11 theoretically. Crucial immunity thresholds happen around 8.5, etc. So I recommend that you stick to the numerics ("+4") instead of saying things like "half".

Your loadout is okay, but there are probably better loadouts for you. We can't really evaluate without knowing what weapons you're using. And you don't have any movement speed increase (MSI).

Octaslash may be referring to a build with MSI+4 (highest possible currently), CTR+6 on all weapons, ASI+6 on all weapons (except maybe bombs), and damage+6 on all weapons against all enemies. This ideal is actually achievable using Black Kat armor, although that is pretty hard to get.

This thread kind of reminds of those reading hour at the library events, where they would have a guest speaker come in and read books to whoever wanted to listen. Except instead of books it's the wiki and instead of a guest speaker it's Bopp.

Wait a second...

Bild des Benutzers Epicskunk

Well

Numeric,then.

I'm not on doing damage to everything,and Black Cat set is pretty much too dangerous to me.Same goes for Chaos set.

I'm going to use Supernova and Blitz,but the thing is that right now I'm using Fang of Vog lvl 1 and Blitz lvl 1.

Also,I don't have alot of crowns,and can't collect crowns because the game hates me,so don't move me around too much.

Bild des Benutzers Bopp
Bopp
okay

So your weapons are Fang of Vog, Blitz Needle, and (soon) Supernova. That's unusual, but interesting and okay.

You want ASI on Supernova (but maybe not CTR, because the charge shots are not especially powerful). You want both ASI and CTR on Blitz Needle. If you were still using Fang of Vog, you would want CTR and lots of fire protection (because the charge is the point of that sword). Of course, MSI and damage bonus are always useful.

Given that you don't want Black Kat or Chaos, my advice would be:

  • Perfect Mask of Seerus (gun CTR+2, gun ASI+1)
  • Nameless Poncho (gun ASI+2)
  • Swiftstrike Buckler (ASI+3) or Grey Owlite, Crest of Almire, or Dread Skelly (more defense)

With heat level 10, that would give you ASI+6 on all guns, CTR+4 on all guns, some small status defenses, and some solid normal+elemental defense.

Bild des Benutzers Epicskunk
Epicskunk
Um...

How do you expect me to get Nameless Poncho?And the Swiftstrike Buckler?

I hardly get anything with crowns,or energy.Becuase of that,I'm stuck with Angelic Set.

/hello

The swift is just a 3* item even if u dont manage to find the advanced orbs, it doesn't take too long to get the crowns for them. Just do a few t2/t3 missions or arcade runs, 200 ce is not that much.

Bild des Benutzers Fehzor

That's literally all you do in game- craft stuff and work towards crafting stuff. I have faith that you can craft a nameless piece of you really want to.

Bild des Benutzers Bopp
Bopp
then you can't get anything

Why are you planning equipment at all, if you are unable to muster any resources to get equipment?

Have patience. The game is supposed to take a while. Just pick the 5-star items (and Swiftstrike Buckler, which is only 3-star) you want, and slowly work toward them.

Bild des Benutzers Epicskunk
Epicskunk
Because

I'm thinking that I might get them if I work very hard,starting from today...

...next year.

Bild des Benutzers Bopp

wait a minute

Epicskunk, you're discouraged about obtaining items, but you've already obtained Fang of Vog and Blitz Needle? How did you get them? Did you just buy them from other players?

If so: Don't buy 4- and 5-star items from other players. Don't buy them from Stranger vendors either. Instead, craft them. Read the wiki page "Crafting", and all of the missions that explain crafting.

Bild des Benutzers Holy-Nightmare

.....

The only time it would be alright to buy an item is if it has a very desirable UV. Such as matched damage types or status resist (think in terms of 5 star)

@ Bopp

On a set that naturally resists a status (lets say Vog cub) how high a fire resist UV would you need to be immune to wisps? I think all you need is a low UV on one piece but I'm not 100% certain

Anyway full status immunity can certainly save you in several places, sure Chaos and BK sets are powerful but in places like Compound 42 or Ghosts in the machine it is much safer to use something that heavily resist the present statuses. Walking through wisps and over toxoil slicks is incredibly useful.

Bild des Benutzers Bopp
Bopp
you seem to be right

There are a lot of threads about status immunity (which one can find by searching Google for "status immunity site:forums.spiralknights.com", without the quotation marks). Getting this information onto the wiki is a long-neglected project of mine, about which I feel guilty.

Anyway, most of these threads say that 8.5 points of resistance are needed to withstand status wisps. So, yes, Vog Cub Cap, Vog Cub Coat, and a +1 UV on of them seems to be enough status resistance. Cheers.

I Got Them By Luck

I got the Fang by doing Vana alot,with Super Vanguards.I had to revive myself for total of 450 times.

Blitz was suprising.Someone decided to gift one to me.

Also,I'm not up for status protection or just plain protection.I like to be all-in-one.

But anyway,crafting is out of question for me,since I can't seem to get the right items for the crafting.As you all said,buying them from players (if there are no good UVs) is not good.So is buying from Strangers.

So,tell me,how am I going to get my stuff?

Oh,by the way,I tried a fire set.I died because of the fire,then I had to sell them to donate to my guild so I can stay in the guild.Since no one helps me out when I friend them (or directly) guilds are the only hope for me.Just because of that,I lost my Chaos set,Vog Cub set,Supernova,2 Leviathan Blades and Combuster.They even kicked me just because I'm worthless.One of them had their donation price as 100k,and I managed to donate it,but I got kicked because I suck.

So,help?

response

I got the Fang by doing Vana alot,with Super Vanguards.I had to revive myself for total of 450 times.

You revived yourself 450 times? You must be spending a lot of resources on Sparks of Life. Don't. Instead, retreat to an easier part of the game, to build your skills.

Also,I'm not up for status protection or just plain protection.I like to be all-in-one.

Ideally, at the start of a level you equip armor that is appropriate to the status and damage threats on that level. Except perhaps for some glass cannon loadouts with broad weaponry, there is no single loadout that is ideal for all situations.

But anyway,crafting is out of question for me,since I can't seem to get the right items for the crafting.

I don't understand how this is possible. Obtaining materials for crafting is not especially difficult. You may have to save up a bit for Orbs of Alchemy. So you save up. Also, the rank missions give you a bunch of recipes, materials, and other necessities. Have you done the rank missions? Do them.

I had to sell them to donate to my guild so I can stay in the guild.

Quit that guild.

Just because of that,I lost my Chaos set,Vog Cub set,Supernova,2 Leviathan Blades and Combuster.

You had all of these items? How did you get them?

I have two theories about what might be going on:

A. You are impatient to get the best stuff in the game, and do not want to progress through the weaker parts. In doing so, you are hurting yourself, because you have no idea what's going on. Do the rank missions, read the wiki page "Crafting", and learn about the game a little before you waste any more of your time and resources.

B. You are simply trolling us.

Bild des Benutzers Epicskunk
Epicskunk
I'm Not Trolling

I'm not here to "troll" I'm here to get help.

And I don't want to quit that guild because if I do,then there will be no one that will help me out.And I mean no one.

All of those were gifts from others,and Chaos Cloak had Piercing VH.

Also,the guild's name is "The White Angels",which suits me perfectly,so that's another reason for me to not quit.

For some reason,my crowns get halved.I have been asking this OUTSIDE of this website,and to OOO.I mean,let's say I have 4k CR and in a level I got 3k.After finishing the level,I look at the total and it says 3.5k.I have no idea why this happens to me,and it started when I got to Rank 6-1.

Also,I joined the game,like,after 7 months when the game came out.Those times were hard,becuase you had mist.If you check my Steam,you will see that the amount of time I played is very low,because I don't really have alot of time to do it.

"You are impatient to get the best stuff in the game".Of course I am because the F****** GAME DOESN'T WANT ME TO!
"and do not want to progress through the weaker parts.".I do progress through the weaker parts.I always do the "In Cold Blood" mission to maximise my chances of getting Shining Fire Crystal.
"Do the rank missions".Already doing those,so no comment on that.
"read the wiki page "Crafting"".I already did that,and it is not useful since I know it already.
"and learn about the game a little".I ALREADY KNOW THE GAME!I know everything,from trinkets that used to give numerical status protection,the levels with jelly that causes Sleep,the Argent Peacemaker being piercing before,the homecoming celebration items,and many more.

You vendored your gear to donate upkeep???? That's messed up but very kind of you. Don't do that. There are guilds and players out there that won't rob you of your gear. Learn to say "no" and not rely on people that are just trying to use you for their whimsical furniture purchases.

Also, if you can prove to support your crown bug they'll help you.. but I'm not sure if it's real, or if you're imagining things.
