Polaris Spam is roughly equal to Grenade Spam in a FPS

Just came to that conclusion now. I'm probably late.

Polluting space with FTL teacups since 1987.

In usage and function, spamming the Polaris is sort of like spamming thrown grenades. For instance, grenades take some time to explode, like the shots of a Polaris.

And if shooters gave you infinite grenades, you bet people would spam those constantly tooo.

On the other hand, grenades usually do a lot of damage in shooters. Polaris does pitiful damage compared to other guns post gunner update.

I actually play a TPS where you can place an ammo box down and it will refill your grenades if you stand close.

It's actually somewhat different to polaris, since grenades in games usually have a much longer fuse time, stay in the same place for a while before exploding (allowing you to get away) but do more damage.

If polaris shots placed a 3/4* blast bomb when they ended instead of exploding then it would be like infinite grenades.

That'd be pretty fun actually...

Polaris = noobtube. High skill floor, low skill ceiling - meaning, it's very easy to use to average effectiveness but you can only be so good at it and it isn't actually very good compared to other weapons that have more room for improvement (which is most of them).

Your argument doesn't make sense.

If polaris users weren't happy with the damage polaris does, they'd use something else. Or maybe they *do* use something else most of the time (such as a sword), and don't see a reason to put time into another sidearm when their polaris is doing the job well for them. Either way, they're happy.

You should be happy too. If polaris is noobish, and you're such awesome LD players, then they should be easy kills in LD. Just rack up your wins while you can. Eventually the polaris users will realize you're beating them and switch on their own.

Or if polaris is not really noobish at all, or if you're not really good enough at LD, then they'll keep using it and they'll keep winning with it. This thread seems like it's just a bunch of second-rate LD players whining about getting killed by polaris users all the time. Stop whining. Either get better at LD, or get a polaris of your own.

I'll keep trying to get better, but in the meantime I'll keep complaining about a weapon that falsely inflates a players's success above his/her skill level.

I don't understand why people

I don't understand why people complain so much about the Pulsar's. It's a normal gun with a fair amount of knockback. If it wasn't "fair" why is it in the game?

Herrrrrr...

@Boneblinder If it wasn't "fair" why is it in the game? Because the develloper are not Demi-God that alway make perfectly balanced weapon. I feel like I am misunderstanding you.

The main reason why people hate this gun in PvE is because it often blasts monsters away from an ally who is about to attack it and because polsar lines can also blast enemies into other players who get hit when a monster that is about to attack gets suddenly pushed aside an ally.

I do not play LD much but I assume the problem in LD is because it can cover a too large are and is difficulty to dodge for a striker who tries to rush straight into the pulsaruser. So instead of thinking about counter-methods it is easier to justify and curse this weapon.
