Convince Me

I'm a retired vanguard player from January 2012. I have a lot of rare items of the years, Maxed out UV's, 6080 hours in my account. I used to have community recognition and players used to know me by name somewhat.

As a community exercise, convince me to come back.

Or convince me to stay away and give up my gear.

My mixmaster and ASI VH Sudaruska and Black Kat Raiment are collecting dust. The sins of this game and it's structure is alienating me, and to be completely honest and petty, I don't like the change made with the separation of the Treasure Vault into a new level that makes it harder to appreciate the new and old levels. Plus new items are still at insane impossible to get drop rates so like...

"Promissary note? What's that? Never heard of it"
"I've been looking and farming for solstice rings for 8 years, and still never seen one of those either."
"Don't get me started on a book of dark rituals"

four options

At the risk of telling you things you already know, I see four options for you, with important distinctions.

A. Start playing frequently again? No, I'm not going to convince you to do this. If you've done all the content many times, then you'll get bored.

B. Keep your stuff, and come back to Spiral Knights occasionally to play some levels? This is what I do --- when new content is released, or a friend wants to play with me, or I just want some relaxing nostalgia.

C. Give away your stuff to other players in Spiral Knights? You don't get any value for it, but you'll make them happy at least.

Welcome back, even if momentarily. :)

Edited to remove content that would violate the TOS.

lol

>i used to really love this game
>I love it less now

Solution: Play the game if you still like it, move on if you don't. don't complicate the issue

Hi, Paintool

I wouldn't sell your gear. If you ever play at all, you're gonna want it and you probably don't need the crowns. What I've been doing is selling off my accessories since they are very hard to find and it's nice to let other people enjoy them. If you're really sure you're never going to play again, though, then, yeah, it would be nice to let other players use it. The challenge is to make sure it goes to a player who will use it and not just a merchant.

also coming back....

My gripe is that after years of absence getting items to customize your Knight is still as difficult maybe even more so than before.

Yest there are a lot custom helmets and armor.... But most are just recolors. I saw on the wiki that there are a lot of different eyes now....

But the lockbox it says they come out of is not available.... Why not sell ALL the eyes directly through crowns ? Or the beards and mustaches ? Or the hair / pigtails / pony tails ?

You don't even have to make new outfits/armor completely .... Take the Gunner armor for example. Why not make those but in a version that does not have the Poncho and revolver gauntlets ?
