Ever since I've bound my account to Steam I've had insane lag

Right, so, straight to the point. Before I bound my account to Steam, I had a perfect, consistent connection of four bars. Now it's a consistent connection of two bars. Worst part about this is that my ping is completely fine on games like Team Fortress 2.

Is there any way to fix this? Or, a question to the devs, is there a way, or will be a way, to separate Steam accounts from Spiral Knights accounts? I really like this game (despite certain updates), and the lag makes the game unplayable in every tier but 1. As a player with many 5* equips, and skill, it's really discouraging, because this dang lag sucked all the fun out of playing this game.

tried sending a steam support

tried sending a steam support ticket? don't think this is a SK problem if you never had problems before (also try changing your download region in steam setting maybe that will help)

maybe your firewall blocked steam or even just spriral knight trough steam (just trowing some ideas at you so you can try stuff while you wait for a fix)

I know this isn't very helpful...

But I just can't seem to understand why you would ever want to link your Spiral Knights account to a piece of software that bad.

@Draycos

Disable steam community in-game and tone your graphics down. Other than that, defrag your computer and the game through steam, and give your computer plenty of breathing space.

I wouldn't blame steam. I'd blame Java code, but that's another story.

Well

I'm not blaming Java coding or Steam because at this point I think it's cumulative.

I bound my account to Steam for the sake of keeping in touch with friends of mine, because I don't play Spiral Knights all too much these days thanks to... again... certain updates.

Anyways, Ren, thanks, that solved the ungodly lag I was having. I mean, disabling the steam community thingummy.

Well, no point to this thread anymore, if someone can delete it, please do.
