Forced Gate Change with CE input

Doing a run with guildies, waiting for the gate to change to something else and got this idea.

Put in some CE to change the gate to a new level at random. (Idk, like 10 CE or something)

Sorry if this has been suggested already, but I'm not going to bother with that evil search bar.

Yeah, it takes a little while to load, dunno why that is. Still not a solid excuse not to use it.

It should probably be less than ten, maybe around two or three; five at most.

I think I remember seeing this topic a while ago but it probably turned into a whiner sausagefest like most threads around here.

Its been suggested before, like Luigi said. If I recall correctly, the general consensus was a changing of the whole mechanic based on the fact that having players wait for such a thing is blatantly bad game design... thus, the system should be made to where you either pay up to go to the level, or you go to the "correct" level that you are destined to fight on.

The real problem is that levels arent balanced to each other. We all know exactly wich levels we would chose and wich skip if we had the choice and thats not right.

As I mentioned in the last post there, it seems that the largest obstacle to this idea is the fact that levels cycle globally. That is, everyone on a given level will see the elevators change to the same level type at the same time. For example, everyone in Depth 19 of the Sapphire Titan Gate will see the elevator change to a Deconstruction Zone: Molten Mayhem at the exact same time.

While the concept is simple enough, the current mechanics of the Clockworks would have to change a lot. It's probable that the changes involved would come with increased server load and lag.
