Damage numbers assume Stratum 6 with no bonuses against a neutral enemy and all that.

Weapon 1: War Flail (Sword)
A slow weapon that specializes in sweeping, area-covering attacks. Starts out Normal, but gains a Piercing variant at 4-star. Both lines can inflict Stun on hit.

Appearance:
A Troika-sized ball & chain. The Piercing line replaces the ball with a large shard of crystal.

Normal Attack:
A 2-hit combo consisting of a 180-degree swing from right-to-left followed by the knight moving 1 square forward while doing a 360-degree clockwise swing. Speed is roughly the same as the Troika combo.

The 1st hit does around 245 with around 1.5 squares of Knockback. The 2nd does around 350 with 3 squares of Knockback. Both have a range of about 1.5 squares.

Charged Attack:
The Knight performs 3 180-degree swings in rapid succession, smashing the ball/crystal into the ground with explosive force each time as he does so. This attack takes just over 3 seconds to do.

Each swing has a range of about 1.75 squares and does around 375 damage. The 1st & 2nd hits have no knockback, while the 3rd has around 5 squares of knockback.

Names:
2-Star: War Flail
3-Star: Weighted War Flail

4-Star (Normal): Earthshaker Flail
4-Star (Piercing): Diamondhead Flail

5-Star (Normal): Groundpounder
5-Star (Piercing): Splinterstorm

Descriptions:
2-Star: "A mighty Flail that is ideal for attacking groups of foes."
3-Star: "This flail has been given a heavier Ball to allow for more striking power."

4-Star (Normal): "The head of this flail is actually an advanced device that converts the energy the user puts into it into explosive force whenever it strikes."
4-Star (Piercing): "Replacing the ball with a shard of ever-growing crystal, this weapon now sends out a flurry of razor sharp shards every time it hits."

5-Star (Normal): "So mighty is this weapon, it is said the very Clockworks reverberate with each strike it makes."
5-Star (Piercing): "The crystal on this flail grows so quickly that it must be used daily, lest it grow to big to be used at all!"

Weapon 2: Throwing Disc (Gun)
Originally a form of entertainment, it was only when a nearby Battle Sprite was nearly clobbered with a thrown disc after attempting to catch it that Knights realized that with some modifications it could become a ranged weapon useful against the Clockwork's more mobile residents. Starts out Normal, but gains a Piercing variant at 4-star.

Appearance:
A large Disc that, after being thrown, extends several Calibur-like blades. The Piercing versions have thinner, keener blades like those of a Flourish.

Special Ability:
The Disc is an Entity (like a Rocket or Howlitzer head) rather than a true Projectile, which allows it to hit multiple enemies and/or the same enemy multiple times. In addition, the discs do not trigger dodge reflexes such as those of Beasts and Fiends.

There is a 3-disk limit, trying to throw a 4th disc will destroy the oldest disc. Discs break instantly on contact with a wall or shield.

Normal Attack:
Throws a single Disc with mild homing abilities (i.e. it'll prevent near-misses, but you still need to aim.) straight forward. The discs persist for around 5 seconds. They also absorb a bit of their users momentum (i.e. if thrown by a knight running left, they'll curve a tiny bit to the left as they go)

Only does around 50 damage per hit, but as mentioned above can hit multiple times to make up for this.

Charged Attack:
the Knight throws two Discs which then orbit around him for 3 seconds, damaging and knocking away any enemies nearby.

Names:
2-Star: Throwing Disc
3-Star: Sharpened Throwing Disc

4-Star (Normal): Razor Disc
4-Star (Piercing): Gale Cutter

5-Star (Normal): Dicing Disc
5-Star (Piercing): Cyclone Cutter

Descriptions:
2-Star: "A homing Disc ideal for taking down more mobile opponents."
3-Star: "This Throwing Disc has been given improved blades to ensure maximum performance."

4-Star (Normal): "A throwing Disc with Razor sharp edges that are sure to leave your foes hurting."
4-Star (Piercing): "The higher spin speeds allowed by the thinner blades mean this Disc generates gale-force winds as it moves."

5-Star (Normal): "Capable of slicing and dicing foes, this deadly Disk is deceptively dangerous!"
5-Star (Piercing): "This disc spins at such incredible speeds that it creates a miniature tornado beneath it!"

Weapon 3: Micro Munitions Array (Bomb)
A bomb optimized for taking on small groups of very tough foes. Starts out Normal, but gains a Elemental variant at 4-star.

Appearance:
A holding device that holds dozens of miniature missiles. Atop the device sits a small targeting laser. The elemental version has a more Gremlin-ish look to it.

The explosion consists of said tiny missiles flying out and hitting all enemies in its AoE.

Attack:
The MMA has a "Fast" charge time & move speed (like Nitro or DBB), a fuse speed somewhere between DBB and BAB (more the former than the latter) and a 2.5 square radius. The damage of this bomb isn't done all at once and it is possible for the target to only take partial damage depending on how long they stay in the AoE for.

For damage numbers see below.

Damage:
While the MMA's overall damage increases the more enemies there are in the radius, the damage done to each actual enemy actually decreases, meaning that while it starts off doing much more damage it does not scale as well as other Bombs.

Here is a quick table showing the MMA's damage compared to that of the Nitro or DBB (which for this test has been averaged to 223):

1 Enemy: 223 - 550 (550x1)
2 Enemies: 446 - 800 (400x2)
3 Enemies: 669 - 975 (325x3)
4 Enemies: 892 - 1048 (262x4)
5 Enemies: 1115 - 1100 (220x5)
6 Enemies: 1338 - 1200 (200x6)
7 Enemies: 1561 - 1351 (193x7)
8 Enemies: 1784 - 1504 (188x8)

So for scenarios where there are more than 5 enemies the Nitro or DBB would be better. The MMA's damage does not degrade past 8 enemies.

Names:
2-Star: Micro Munitions Array
3-Star: Mega Munitions Array

4-Star (Normal): Mega Munitions Array MK2
4-Star (Elemental): Ironclaw Munitions Array

5-Star (Normal): A.L.P.H.A Bomb
5-Star (Elemental): Roarmulus's Revenge

Descriptions:
2-Star: "A demolition device that can optimize its attack patterns depending on how many foes it senses nearby."
3-Star: "A demolition device that can optimize its attack patterns depending on how many foes it senses nearby. This version carries more powerful warheads."

4-Star (Normal): "The missiles fired from this device are far larger and meaner than those of its predecessor."
4-Star (Elemental): "This Array fires Gremlin-made missiles looted from the Ironclaw factory located deep in the Clockworks."

5-Star (Normal): "Said to stand for "A Lethally Precise Hostile Annihilator", these mighty Munitions can live up to their name with ease."
5-Star (Elemental): "It's said that the AI that guides the missiles of this device comes from the Roarmulus Twins themselves. Wonder if they remember you?"

These sound reasonably

These sound reasonably balanced and a fun new change, and I especially like the sound of the maul.

@Juances:

Maybe I didn't word it right, but I meant "extend" in the sense that they stick out from the Disc after the disc is thrown. It doesn't "fire" them

How do you balance the "Throwing Disc"(Saw Gun) against the Iron Slug and the Callahan?

These sound intersting

Though does the war-flail have knockback and does it swing faster/slower/same speed compared to the troika lines?

@Klipik: Preferably it would

@Klipik: Preferably it would be a Damage vs Ease to hit. The Magnus family would be better if you're a good enough shot to consistently hit with it (remember, most Beasts & Fiends dodge like crazy), while the Discs would be easier to hit with.

Also while I suppose it could be a gun that fires disks, my idea was that they just threw the disc.

@Trollingyou: I've added that information to the OP, but here's the gist of it:

Normal Attack Speed: "Speed is roughly the same as the Troika combo."
Charged Attack Speed: "This attack takes just over 3 seconds to do."

Normal Attack Knockback: "Both (hits) have a range of about 1.5 squares and a knockback of around 3 squares."
Charged Attack Knockback: "The 1st & 2nd hits have no knockback, while the 3rd has around 5 squares of knockback."

also

You mentioned having more than one disc out at once - do they bounce off walls or something? Are they like this? I just can't imagine being able to shoot/throw more than one being useful otherwise.

Back when I was doing melee weapon mechanic ideas down the street I was originally going to base it on the actual weapon as the other weapons went, but that became far too complicated to ever apply to a game without three dimensional combat. After letting it sit in the bottom of the pot but still cooking on the stove over a while a few ideas on simplifying a flail started to broil but it has strange effects and combat changing effects compared to any other sword/melee weapon we have already. Even compared to some of my other melee weapon ideas it takes the prize for strangeness. It should record Lockdown kills.

Anyway, weapons of squishing people. Always a jolly good time. I am going to shut up about my own thread to talk about this one. Starting now.

The basic flail combo sounds like the lunge of Flourish basic swings added to basic Troika/Sealed swings but possibly a wider swing arc. Do heavy swords normally swing 180 or is it 120? I know it has more girth than basic swings, but is it a complete half circle? That seems pretty crazy. If both basic swings knock enemies back three spaces, how would people do the full combo on the same target(s)? The first swing would plop them three spaces away, the lunge brings you closer by one, and the swing only reaches 1.5; even if it lines up perfect the only way that swing will connect is if the enemy is coming towards you without being interrupted or knocked down by the first swing.

Is the charge like Donkey Kong in Super Smash but only three hits instead of indefinite? That could be fun with an actual hammer, unlike whatever the liquids Seerus did by attaching a rocket on a stick. Then again we already have Troika ramming it down. Otherwise this attack seems similar to Cutter charge attacks but more area of effect and knockback when it eventually ends.

Frisbees of death. I knew this would happen some day. This weapon seems silly but uses what no projectile firing weapon in this game has yet to acknowledge: ammunition. Kind of. If throwing/shooting one dis(c/k) flies around, doop de poop flying circles and all those shenanigans, then lands on the ground; do the same with the rest of your maximum and then you run out of ammo. Your system seems to use ammo as a different kind of clip system to prevent people from throwing derpbillion discs everywhere forever, but in my demented imagination when you throw one it eventually lands on the ground and sits there. In fact, out of unexpected inspiration, if two branches exist one can have the advantage of the discs detonatable manually while the other becomes a sort of landmine and explodes/does something to attack when an enemy walks over an inactive disc on the floor. The knight can retrieve thrown discs, but only theirs and not ones thrown by anyone else, to restore ammunition. Discs eventually despawn while sitting on the floor after around ten seconds after landing or being stopped by a wall/impassable object.

The fastest bomb charge time is around five seconds without any charge modifiers, same with most other weapons. The bomb looks great for focusing on less targets at a time but that goes against the idea of bombs specializing in area of effect. Not that I would ever have a problem with that, seeing as Pulsars and Brandishes exist and break weapon-archetype-stereotype-things, but giving something that bends the rules a little for bombs is not likely to happen. Because Nick hates us explosive punks. Keep up the bomb-hate-spiting.

Back to talking about my thread for a moment before someone inevitably throws me out of the nearest window. I think I will go back and try flails again. Been listening to some Johnny Cash, puts me in the mood. Not the mood, but you know; the mood to write about flails. If that makes sense. That never makes sense. I can throw myself out the window now, no need to bother yourself.

For the disc, let the amount of discs you can throw at once be the same as the amount that orbit you during the charge attack. Then, make that number the same as the weapon's star level.
Also, how big are these discs?

@Luguiru:

Flail Normal: The "lunge" only covers 1 square, and does it nowhere near as fast as the Flourish/Rocket Hammer, and is only really there to ensure that you can still hit enemies that you hit with the 1st strike (which I'm halving the Knockback of based off your advice) with the 2nd one as well.

Flail Charged: Each swing is a sort of '--_--' shape vertically, with the head of the Flail hitting the ground and exploding/shattering at the 90-degree part of each swing (if that makes any sense) It's not a true "Smash" attack like that of a Troika/Rocket Hammer

Throwing Discs: I think an ammo mechanic like that would be a bit mean, especially if you have to fight in an area where there's no guarantee you'll even be capable of getting said discs back.

Funny you should mention detonate-able discs though, given how the original alternate line for them was an Elemental Catherine-wheel style disc that exploded on impact.
.
.
@Noklip & Klipik: I feel like that would make the Discs a bit too spammy. To answer your previous questions, I imagine these disks being the size of the 0-1 star shields (maybe a bit bigger) and they'd just break on hitting a wall.
