Plant family monsters
Deals: piercing
Weakness: shadow
Resistance: elemental
Neutral: piercing

They have a chance to spawn in place of any shrub or bush. They kinda resemble Deku Scrubs when they reveal themselves. They are basically plants that have acquired sentience, and lie in wait to ambush unsuspecting knights. The "Bushwhackers" are the most common type, and are a melee plant that will walk up to the player and attach itself to it, like a zombie. When knocked off, they whip the player with their roots and try again.

The "Shrubbers" look like ordinary shrubs and act kind of like shankles, untouchable until they randomly decide to pop up and shoot. They launch fast-traveling barbs when they shoot, and depending on the tier, will launch 1, 3, or 5 barbs in a spread. They don't fire often, but when they do, it's hard to dodge.

I'm considering a new combat mechanic: if the player activates the shield just as a bullet hits, it returns the shot to the sender. This could be used to fight Shrubbers (Zelda, anyone?).

Adding a new family means either making one damage type more useful than the other two, or adding a new damage type and changing all the monster resistances. Just add them to the beast family, it needs more members anyway.

Also, this is a plant too, right?

Lol i was about to write a suggestion about plant enemies too and how nice you thought the same weakness defenses as i thought. but yeah the game need new contents new and more monsters. so +1 plants are underrated as enemies.

I had the idea of creating a family for every permutation of the damage types. This is a partial implementation.

But yes, if we were to use an existing family, I'd use beast. It occurred to me as I wrote the OP.

My idea really needs to be more thought out.

You would need two more families to balance it out.

Just to add in, I think OOO won't be adding new monster families to the game any time soon because it would be a lot of work to go through so many areas of the game to place them in.

Think about the updates. They are not very big other than Krogmo's Coliseum.

They could be drones. They do sound more like sentient traps than an enemy.

So you want make plant family since you want fire more effective i'm right?

Otherwise -1 for making shadow way more important than the other 2 special damage.

Plant should be in the un-name family like vanaduke and those other guys. I also dont like that it has shadow as its weakness and elemental resitance. I would put neutral to shadow, and weak to elemental. resistance to piercing and neutral to normal.

I mean, look at how well all the piercing weapons do against bushes.

the plant attack should be varied where 1 attack can pure piercing and another pure elemental. that way, it will have increase in dificulty sense it is supposedly a stationary enemy like those turrets. well just a thougt.
