Combuster, magma driver, ash of agni, flamberge, volcanic pepperbox. All weapons that inflict fire.

Is there any particular reason there is so many weapons that can inflict fire in this game?

Incorrect.

9 weapon lines deal Fire. Only 6 of these deal Fire in their respective 5* incarnation if they have any at all.
10 weapon lines deal Shock. Only 6 of these deal Shock in their respective 5* incarnation if they have any at all.
11 weapon lines deal Stun. Only 5 of these deal Stun in their respective 5* incarnation if they have any at all.

I was predicting the number for Stun to be 6, too, so I were going to link y'all to this but now it doesn't fit :<

So yeah, let's look at the other statuses.
1 weapon line deals Curse. It deals Curse in it's 5* incarnation, too.
7 weapon lines deal Freeze. Only 4 of these deal Freeze in their respective 5* incarnation if they have any at all.
5 weapon lines deal Poison. Only 4 of these deal Freeze in their respective 5* incarnation if they have any at all.
No weapons deal sleep.

To summarise:
Status | lines | 5*
Curse | 1 | 1
Fire | 9 | 6
Freeze | 7 | 4
Poison | 5 | 4
Shock | 10 | 6
Sleep | 0 | 0
Stun | 11 | 5

NOTE: all these numbers consider Sealed Sword to inflict statuses. The part regarding 5* weapons does of course not consider the Sealed Sword as it is a 3* weapon.
