Has anyone ever tried to prove or had a hunch that Swiftstrike Buckler has a shorter internal cooldown timer on how frequently you can bump?

Why would it?

.

I have this vague memory of Nick leaving an Easter egg somewhere about SSB, and about how no one has caught on to it. It's to obscure to find or reference and in all probability I've got it mixed up with something else.

The Swifty...

All you need to know about it is that it's great at everything except being a shield. Also, I've thoroughly used the bash and bump with the Swifty and other shields and noticed no significant difference.

Do bumps have a cooldown?

They seem to. Often in FSC I will bump one slag walker and go to bump another to make leeway while I focus on something else and find I have to wait about 1-1.5 seconds before Crest of Almire will bump anything again even though I have obviously let it drop off between attempts and have rather good latency.

Its a very slight amount of time, say...the amount of time you have to wait to not chain the second swing or shot on a sword or gun.

Oh, bumping! Not bashing. Hm.

There is definitely a cooldown on bumping, I'll make tests.

Maybe its universal, or just

Maybe its universal, or just possibly its an ASI driven mechanic because swifty is the only piece of equipment I own that gives a "blanket" increase to ASI.

I wasn't able to perceive a difference. Framecounting showed the cooldown to consistently be 1.3 seconds. I thought you might've been onto something the first couple of framecountings I did with ancient plate, but they were just flukes and the rest had a cooldown of 1.3 again.

Bummer. Good work though.

Bummer. Good work though. The fact that there is an ICD would be useful information to add to the shield guide wiki page none the less.

Cheese it up!

Don't feel bad Krakob. I thought this was going to be about Super Smash Bros. But then I remembered that I was on the Spiral Knights forums.
