Are you pissed off at the recent updates? Do you think that OOO is becoming too unreasonable? I know many people are! When I saw the updates, I planned on quitting too, but I finally decided to stay and weather the storm. But, to any of you who are actually going to quit, please take the time to read on.

I can invest all the resources you send me, and turn a profit. If you think you have the slightest chance of rejoining, I can make you money while you are away. If you know you never will be returning, send it anyway and help out a fellow knight! If you ever come back, I'll return what you invested, with INTEREST! It's a win-win situation. Just include in your mail how much you sent, I'll make sure it gets back to you. Also, please include a secret word(s) so I know it's you when you ask for your stuff back (if you are on a multi).

I will keep records of my mails, and will back them up in a flash drive just to make sure. They'll all be kept in an excel file, with the amount deposited, the date of deposit, and username on it.
I am fairly confident that I will be able to return the investments. If not, I have 400 dollars to back it up by buying CE if another update screws us all over.
Also, I'm confident that the deposits from the permanent quitters would be enough to back up everybody's deposits for at least half a year. Additionally, if they ever remove the no-trading policy for alchemized items, I will be able to turn a HUGE profit every day just from UV'd items.

Will now only accept investments in pure crowns or CE. Sorry, but the material/equipment market is too unstable for me to make decent returns. All those who have invested in materials will have them sent back with an apology and some crowns. However, donations are always welcome!
If you want to invest particularly large amounts of crowns, I can give you better interest rates.

I will not scale any higher. At 6% a month, it's 150,000 x 0.06 = 9000 crowns essentially for free every month! If you put the cash in, you get an added income bonus every month on an otherwise unusable pile of money (especially considering the current economy).
Additionally, a one time deposit of 50K for a determined 1 month period will earn you gold status. This means that ALL investments will start off at 3.5% compounded monthly, no matter what amount.

Ponzi Scheme?
No. I promise on my soul this is not a ponzi scheme. Also, I have full rose regalia, along with some pretty expensive equips. Why would I want to risk a ban? It's my only account, and I love this game. Also, the interest I'm proposing is not ludicrously high at all. In fact, it is very doable. Unfortunately though, I cannot reveal my investments. This is because others would cash in, and the window of opportunity would quickly die, resulting in weakened profits.
Don't want to spook you, but a proper ponzi scheme wouldn't hurt any of the first investors. No, it's the people in the end who lose. So, an investment of any sort right now wouldn't be of any harm. I hope that didn't raise any more doubts.
Also, I'm pretty sure the ingame Admins would bust me if I was running a ponzi scheme. They don't want me to cause people to quit.

No, I will not be quitting. I think that OOO will see the light soon enough and change this update. How could they not, with nearly unanimous dissent amongst the players?

Honestly I wouldn't trust any plan like this. There's never any guarantee of returns. This is exactly how the Ponzi schemes start. A few people use the service, you get some income then one or two ask for their returns, you use the money from new members to pay them off. They go, oh wow, I actually got paid, advertise it to their friends. Soon enough you're sitting on the collective bankrolls of dozens of players if not more. You keep it going, using but a fraction of the funds to pay off "dividends", meanwhile you have tens of thousands of ce and probably hundreds of thousands of cr to play with and do whatever you want with in game. Then one day you get bored of this game, as you undoubtedly will, and you uninstall and leave, and the poor investors are shorted their entire game income.
There's too much at risk for us investors. It's not like you'll get sent to jail for this or w/e, and I doubt that you'd even be banned. The argument can easily be made that the players traded you their money willingly, and there's no formal contract promising them any kind of returns or guarantees. Sides, even if you were banned, this is only a game, not real life, so we stand to lose much more than you do.
Final thoughts: no matter what you promise or guarantee in forums, ultimately you're just another player asking everyone else to give him all their money on good faith.

I'm not giving up! There are MANY successful player-initiated banks in various mmorpgs, and I think that a bank could be created in Spiral Knights too.
One of the signs that a game is maturing is that experienced players begin to help the community through charitable or low-profit services. Such services give a sense of community to the game, give other (and newer) players better experiences, and make the game worth playing. That is what I am trying to achieve. I can make a profit already through the market, but I can't make it for the community.
I know that you have doubts about my trustworthiness. Due to the nature of in-game banks, that is inevitable. However, before everybody voices complaints, I must ask:
What are you doing to improve this game?
P.S. I plan on finding a good ingame market analyst to replace me if I'm decide to take a break or quit. One person should never be operating the bank.

I am maturing the game's community, and making life easier for players in general. I am showing that player-initiated efforts can make a difference, and that WE THE PLAYERS can make this game great. That is what I'm doing.

Would scamming large amounts of players be outside of the "spirit of the game?" Would causing players to ragequit as a result be outside of the "spirit of the game?"
I think that retaliation is assured if I'm going to scam you. There is no way I'll simply walk away from all this.

I find it extremely insulting to my honor when you mention that. Spiral Knights does not even have enough crowns to sustain a proper ponzi scheme. I know that because I've been watching the market since I joined, and only about 2 thousand players are online at any given time, for a possible playerbase of 10-15 thousand players. That is an absolutely tiny community. Couple that with the slow-growing player base, and you have yourself a nice 2 week ponzi scheme in exchange for:
1. Your account. Three Rings can do what they want, but would they rather save a mass scammer at the cost of all his investors? That is a ridiculous notion at best, particularly because Spiral Knights is just in the growing stages. A major issue like that could spark another boycott or something ( I could imagine magnus/godofskype1 raging about it).
2. Your Reputation. I daresay you use the same username for other sites. I know I do, and I encounter people in SK I know from other places all the time. To me, a scam would be shooting myself in the foot with an anti-tank missile.
All that for a meagre profit of maybe 4-5 million crowns. Which is how much? Less than what I had a week ago, that's how much it is, and I spent that much in about 2 hours. It's also about a week of buying cheap and good UVs, levelling and reselling them. I can't believe you guys are serious about my "ponzi scheme."

That in and of itself doesn't condemn you but it certainly calls into question your character. With your anonyminity and potential lack of real world consequences if you screw player over, well...
I don't think I'd be likely to use your service without something a bit more concrete.

Of course I know how it could go horribly wrong, with the recent updates, OOO made EVERYBODY's accounts go horribly wrong. If they surprise us with another update, the economy has a pretty good chance of getting even worse.
Perhaps Eurydice knows something we don't. I'm going to wait until the game is more developed before trying the bank idea again.
