TL;DR Google Fiber

I'm not sure if this topic has been mentioned yet, but here it is.

Personally, my internet connection is only so-so. Based on a test I performed on speedtest.net, my ping tends to be between 15-20 ms, while both my download and upload speed tend to be between 7-10 Mbps. Even so, I have some lag. It's hard for me to imagine what it is like for those who have it worse.

However, if you live in Kansas City, Missouri, or in Kansas City, Kansas, then Google Fiber is available there. Based on this image, one guy using Fiber got about a speed of 800-900 Mbps, which is about 100 times faster than average.

Also, if you live in Kansas or Missouri in general, or in Austin, Texas, or in Provo, Utah, then this internet connection will be available there soon.

Now stop complaining so much about why you got rubber-banded into the patch of fire in FSC, or why that one person in LD got you, and deal with it.

HAWH.

Because my neighborhood was built a year before fiber-optics were invented, we can't have FiOs until it goes wireless. Xfinity is a piece of overpriced crap, and our internet ping is an average 500kbs-1mbs. YOU stop complaining. My average download rate is 100-200kbs.

Yeah, and if you don't live in Missouri? Or the US. Or the northern hemisphere.

We do deal with it, because there kind of isn't anything else high pingers can do. ~(._.~)

Not everyone lives there. Check your privilege.

And those that do live there don't know what true lag feels like >.>

Even if the servers and Kansas were on opposite sides of USA (wich they obviously aren't), it would be nothing compared to someone in Australia, South America, etc.

Oh god, reddit reposts have come to SK...

But at any rate, at least in my case, I have internet that actually does pretty darn well. My problem is my computer isn't shiny enough. I must go find a wild shiny laptop and catch it to fix my latency. Until then negative framerates will continue to haunt my dreams.

I live close-ish to where the SK servers are housed, so I get faster speeds in-game :P

@Spiralviperr: Faster speeds

@Spiralviperr: Faster speeds compared to what exactly? I get faster speeds too. Faster than 10Mbps. But I also get slower speeds too. Slower than 15Mbps. Pretty sure you get slower speeds also. Slower than 835Mps.

Someone does not understand how latency works.

Someone does not understand how latency/ping works.

One thing is the latency from your PC to your nearest speedtest.net server (most likely your own ISP), and another is the latency from your pc to the SK servers. Sure, I could I have a 1ms latency to a ISP in Japan but the intercontinental latency is going to be huge.

If you wanna improve your latency, move to the US east coast, the closer to Virginia, the better.

TL;DR Speed of light sucks.
