I live in Australia and have been playing on the normal servers for about 3 years, but was wondering if the asian servers are better in terms of latency issues. Can anyone shed some light on this? And also, how do I go on the asian servers?

I have a better connection in the Asian server than I do in the regular version, and I live in the US, but that may be due to the fact that there's like 10 players max on at one time. It's almost completely void.
Here's a quick guide to installing and playing the Asian server.

I have a few friends who also play on the US servers with me, so if I make a new alt on the asian servers, I'll get them to come over too so we can play together, so that's not a gigantic issue. I was aware of the fact that I'd need to start a new character, and I was actually going to make a new alt soon anyway so no worries.
I'll probably continue to play on the western servers a bit though.
also, shielding up when you hit shield will be a glorious luxury, I can't wait :D. No more guessing where projectiles really are!

The Asian servers are a bit better in terms of latency. I live in NSW and I get 2 bars (better than that red dot of a connection i get from US Servers). And yes. You actually shield up when you shield up... O_O
HOWEVER
The asian servers are separate from both the EU and US servers so if you wish to play on the Asian server, you will have to create a whole new account and character. There is no way to carry your account across. T'is sad.
It's also a ghosttown on there. There is absolutely no one in the English haven and around 12 people in the whole of the Chinese haven lol. It's no fun playing with yourself or people you can't even chat with.
And the asian servers tend to be late with the updates.

As you have probably worked out by now, I have given up on the Asian servers. Just no fun. I'm sticking to the US servers for now. Hopefully they establish a server down here (I highly doubt. ETA 5 years )
