The Proto Sword (+Bomb+Gun+Shield)

Okay, so I don't know if anyone else is bothered by these hunks of junk
It just sorta... sits there, in your inventory... doing nothing!

the Proto Armour/Spiral armour sorta becomes a vanity item, which is no problem
but the rest of the proto equipment has no benefit

so, idea here, lets take a look at the Bolted Blade, well, its description
- "An upgraded Proto Sword reinforced with bronze bolts scavenged from the Clockworks"
as we can see its an upgraded proto sword, both in description and general shape

why not make it so you need to use bronze bolts and such to upgrade your basic proto gear into Bolted equipment?
it would make it a bit more useable, introduce new knights to how upgraded through alchemy works and I personally quite like the design

also, the Spitfire/Frost gun/Zapper description
- "A modified Proto Gun augmented with a low intensity burst of flame./alchemical freezing agent./electrical charge."
+ Firecracker/Coldsnap
- "A Proto Bomb modified to generates small bursts of fire/frost upon detonation."

...or you could just let us sell our proto weaponry

Well I thought the reason we couldn't do this is in case we decided to just sell everything we owned, we'd be stuck with Proto, the weakest armor and shield in the game, and one of the weakest swords/guns in the game.

Didn't krabob or some Striker have an idea with the shield?

I remember a thread that suggested using the Proto Shield to help with shield canceling. At the cost of 0 protection, you are free to Acheron away at anything in sight without the worry of knockback. After all, what Knight needs a shield? (This is why I prefer gunning.)

As for the other stuff, I guess upgrading them up a bit could work. But I doubt it would be long until the noobs switched to their new Cobalt gear. So it wouldn't last long.

2 Stars for a fair and harmless suggestion though.

well you can sell the proto bomb and have nothing in your bomb section and I don't think your given an artefact or accessory section until you get 1

I think I recall Krabob or Someone mentioning they wanted like a cheaper alchemy recipe for a updated set of proto items that required like 1 orb and didn't take as much to heat but dealt like 1/2 the damage of the cobalt gear so knights who didn't have as much time to grind or the money to spend could go through the ranks

honestly its kind of annoying have them in my inventory
