agree

I agree that linking to a page with no relevant information is an error, that should be corrected.

Please also be aware that the wiki has some weird caching issues. When a patch is rolled out, try reloading the release notes web page in your browser, just to make sure that it really isn't up to date.

You're being too generous about Three Rings' not keeping up its wiki. The wiki is theirs, not ours. They make the first drafts of pretty much every "real" article (excluding guild pages, user space pages, etc.). The crucial articles (Energy, etc.) are protected, so that only Three Rings can edit them. Those of us who edit the rest of the wiki are essentially doing unpaid work to document Three Rings' game. The responsibility for keeping crucial information up to date is entirely Three Rings'.

Given that they don't have the staff needed to make a really good wiki, I am glad that they let us help. Being stuck with crummy articles that we couldn't fix would really irritate the players.

April 29 patch also not on Wiki

The Patch banner button links to
http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Release/latest

... which *does not* include today's patch info. I tried it in a different browser, one which has never visited this site, so it is not a cache issue.

If you click on the 'calendar format' link on the page, there is an entry for April 29 that *does* have the info, but it is not on the page linked per se.

right

I can't see today's release either.

On the calendar format page, everything after August 2013 is missing for me. I've tried reloading. I don't have another browser to test it on right now.

The Calender was always updated by people on the wiki. I updated it from August 2013 but it's a decent amount of work to add them. I'll add the rest of them later on.

yikes

Wow, the players do an even larger share of the wiki work than I realized.

The cart before the horse

@Glacies, thanks for clearing up the confusion of who owns the task of updating the wiki Release Notes page.

As I stated earlier (not sure if it was in this or the thread in Technical issues) if there is a link coming from something OOO does to something done by users, then OOO needs to be forwarding the detailed 'notes' to the users doing the wiki before putting a banner out their pointing to it. It is embarrassing for the wiki folks that it is not updated, frustrating for the users because it appears that OOO did not verify their code prior to release, and it is generally not helpful to anyone as it was intended to be.

I am, however, curious why the calendar link *did* get updated. Does OOO do that? If so, perhaps the link should be to the calendar entry rather than the general Patch Notes page of the wiki?

Good Job Thalia

As the 01MY14 patch is about to be deployed, I'd just like to give credit to Thalia who updated the wiki Release Notes *prior* to the patch going live!

I'm looking forward to clicking the button on the splash screen and seeing your work as it should be :-D

I do stand corrected ... I looked in the wrong place in the calendar on 4/29 ... I see the calendar page has not been updated to add the 2014 releases yet.

Keep up the good work folks.
