I know we have gunner update, but here would be an interesting idea for some unique handguns.

Shotgun: Standard Attack: Fires 6 small pellets that deal different dmg types, the standard one can be upgraded to each dmg varient. The weapon can be fired slowly, but consecutively twice before reload. The 6 pellets spread out as they advance, like turrets. This weapon has a shorter range, about the range of the blitz.
Charge Attack: Fires a double barrel blast that has 12 pellets, increased damage, and increased spread. Increased reload time, and knockback on player. Reload cannot be shortened by shield cancel.

This weapon will NOT change attack patterns, just damage. However it will change looks. It will be a single barrel, pump shotgun at 2 star, eventually going up to a double barrel shotgun at 5 star. This weapon is absolutely devastating at close range, especially to larger targets, as all pellets will hit them, and each pellet deals dmg. The charge attack is incredibly powerful, but it has a twice the kick, and reload time, making it difficult to use properly. However, most enemies in lower tiers will be unable to survive a fully heated 5 star charge attack. It will be difficult to use properly in LD, because of how player dmg works. Can be found in hall of heroes and basil at the gunslinger.

Energy Laser: Regular attack: Short quick bursts of dmg to single targets. High elemental dmg, chance of strong fire, and slight knockback. Has unique shot ammount explained later.
Charge Attack: A single, more powerful laser that can pentrate targets, but CANT penetrate Trojan or Dreadnaught shields. Higher dmg, and greater chance of strong fire.

This weapon is unique, and is only 5 star. It's charge attack has little changes about it, except for its penetration abilites. However, the regular attack has a unique system called overheating. If the weapon is fired to many times in fast enough succession, it will overheat, dealing Fang of Vog strength fire to the player, and heavy dmg. Looks for this weapon can be recomended.

Tesla Cannon: Regular attack: Fires a single bolt of electricity, deals elemental and strong shock.
Bonus while charging: While charging it builds up energy, if the charge is canceled, it will release the energy it has built up in the form of a lightning bolt. Bolt has a chance of targeting monsters, OR friendly players. Deals strong shock to whatever it hits.
Charge attack: Fires a MUCH more powerful bolt at a single target, players NOT included, that can jump to any hostile target up to 2 spaces away. Dmg to targets the bolt has jumped to is lowered. Can jump up to 4 times. If the weapon is charged too long, it will release the bolt, attacking EVERYTHING, players, monsters, and blocks, within a 6 square radius of the player. Has guaranteed chance of strong shock no matter what.

This weapon is unique, it also only has a 5 star version. Its regular attack is effective as it has a large range, it will attack a monster that is closest to you but visible. It can only attack in a straight line and it cant jump obstacles, which means it will target enemies behind obstacles, but instead will hit the obstacle. This includes blocks, and shadowfire. It looks like a longer blaster with a tesla coil wrapped around it, and silver orb at the end of it. On high quality the weapon will constantly be pulsing with electricity. The orb at the end is what launches the attack. While charging the electricity on it will intensify. The weapon charge is risky, but devastating, dealing high dmg to many targets, and spreading shock. However, it is incredibly risky, as if it is interupted, via an attack or by the player, it will lose charge, and discharge the attack, hostile to players. Overall extremely effective if used right, but dangerous if used wrong.

More handguns or weapons may come later! Feel free to post your suggestions!

Now, ignoring the other guns, isn't the 'shotgun' extremely similar to the autogun line? Its attack patterns are extremely similar. It fires 6 bullets on a regular attack, can fire twice before reloading (wow where have i seen that before?), and has an 'incredibly powerful' charge, that's impractical in lockdown. You also said it had a similar range to blitz, and that its bullets in charge were stronger than its regular ones.
Additionally, for the different appearances on its upgrades, how can it do a double barrel shot (on charge, as you said) if it's a single barrel shotgun at 2*? And at 5*, why wouldn't it use both barrels on regular shots?

About the Laser and Cannon.

You know why people grind Operation Crimson Hammer? The material at the very end. Since 5 star orbs are practically free, it's a free 30k if the 5 star helm is sold to a Merchant in the Bazaar. Now here, we could potentially rage craft these new weapons, making everyone rich. Binding the weapons wouldn't help much either.

Give these two weapons a full line for crafting.

I'm not particularly sure of Guaranteed Shock either. A drawback shouldn't be an advantage, in any way.

The shotgun would be slightly more mobile then blitz.

The shotgun would be slightly more mobile then blitz, and it would have FAR less dmg. That is one confusing thing i know too. In one game i play, the secondary fire a single barrel shotgun is a double barrel blast. This might be seen having a smaller secondary barrel on the weapon, used purely for the double barrel blast.

Well, y'know, they did make the autogun lines more mobile in the test server, with increased movement speed while charging and attack speed increase, i believe it was. So basically, now, you have a gun that is similar to the autogun line in attacks, charge, and pretty much everything but it does less damage.

Also, even if they use that logic in whatever other game it was you were playing, it still doesn't make sense to me to have a second barrel that you only use in charge attacks. I mean like, if you're trying to shoot something that's trying to kill you, why not shoot from both barrels normally?

beam weapons would be fun as long as they can't move while firing it.
