As I am being a experienced gamer. All the details and excitement about this game drew me in to be bent on playing it. However, the long-term wishes to play this game so to speak. Died quickly without a adequate challenge and reward system. So some of my play suggestions.
1. Their is no real story? Okay yes you crash landed, okay well you came from some other planet. So now you mine crystals to open portals to harvest energy for no real cause at all? Are the robots bored?
2. No actual quest or assignments to do, or to report in with any actual NPC. (no real reward? [exclusion of mist tanks that make no sense considering to even get the tier 3 mist tank you must spend over 1000CE crafting your items.])
3. I like the challenging factor to get items, but with no real way to make the items/recipes due to large amounts of energy being required . As well as large amounts or crowns to even get your hands on the recipe. The challenge was underdone with no real adequate reward to quench the hard labor put into achieving them. -----> Change this.<----
4. Without a proper challenge and reward system that has more than 3 task so Spiral calls them. This game falls quickly down the no longer want to play list. (no really a suggestion but a fact.)
5. No leveling system? this game was a brave attempt without a leveling system, to make up for a leveling system perhaps a greater reward program? Nope. This game leaves you hanging, and without a real sense of achievement well.... It sucks. However, it was good while it lasted, but no long term goals are found in this game.
6. In my short time of playing i managed to get all 4 star equipment, and see many others fall and quit playing the game. Why? Simply because to even get the equipment you go through constant boring continuous runs of practically the same things for hours. Then you buy the recipe, the ope look at that, you need to go do the same thing again and again even longer to get money to buy energy and to make the item. You get the item, you do the same thing, and look upgrade time but now you have to work even longer. So rewarding doing the same thing over and over again? Not really.
7. Bosses.. Their are only two? I'm not even sure if Vog is a boss, and if not there's only one, jelly king? I mean you should have different one, change it up make like each tower have their own bosses, and then make he gates even change in real time. Then just keep them all open, make them each their own individual worlds! with different levels of power within the monsters of that world! You don't have a leveling system, so integrate a new star system because it is to late to go back. Make the gates separate worlds, make each world more challenging than the next, make new star items up to around 30 stars, make crafting prices lowered for the current items, then have them raise only slightly as items go up, (absolute must.) MAKE A NEW CHALLENGE REWARD SYSTEM. If i was 000 and sega, i would just start the whole game over with these ideas and thoughts in mind. Why not do a little of what final fantasy crystal chronicles did on gamecube. Seriously though. Something went wrong in a game designers head when he spawned this game without a proper quest line / challenge and reward system. 3 task/quest for an entire game? I mean they aren't even real quest , i don't know what to call them.

anyway, a small voice from one player, with some major game renovation suggestions to keep some of your players that are fastly fleeting.

1. looking at the game now

1. looking at the game now there isnt really meant to be a story less they expand it out somehow

2. thats kinda the point there really isnt suppose to be any quests only the assignments to push u through the tiers from there its the exploration of the clockworks thats the key to this game

3. i have little problem getting the money and energy it just takes longer than it use to

4. no comment not worth it

5. Monster Hunter has a similar system... there are no levels and u need to make/upgrade your gear and farm the mats as u go

6.i dont mind this... i like it in fact (im not agreeing with u i mean i like the current system)

7. they are making one for tier 1 http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/9022

The Storyline and other things

As far as the story is concerned it is more in depth than that. The knights crash landed because something with their mother ship malfunctioned or ran out of fuel. They harvest the energy so they can explore the clockworks with the goal of reaching the core. The reason they want to reach the core is because there is a massive source of energy detected there. Enough energy, it is theorized, to fuel the mother ship so they can leave Cradle. This has all been put out there somewhere.

As far as your other suggestions, sure the prices of crafting are steep, all this means (as far as f2p players are concerned) is that it requires more time. It wouldn't be worth it if you could just go and get all 5* gear really quickly. Energy is an issue that has been and will continue to be an issue so I won't go into detail about this. This game is different than others for a reason they are trying out new things and I salute them for it. Developers need to try out new mechanics that set them apart from other games not just make the same thing. This is what attracts people in the first place.

The biggest thing I can say in response to your suggestions is that the game is still in development. We aren't talking about something that has been around for a year, it is practically brand new. People generally have high expectations right at the get go but more specifically with free MMOs they aren't guaranteed to have a lot of content right away. It takes time to create content especially when something is new. The company needs time to create content and make sure they can afford to do so. OOO already has financial backing for some good updates, people just need to wait for that content. The key here is patience some people have it, most people don't, and with so many free MMOs out there why should they wait. But you never know, give it a chance and you could see some good results.

Monster Hunter \ Replies :p

I played monster hunter frontier Korea To Hr. 86 Lolz. Great game. Lost my account.

Brandermau: Well Sega i expected something a little better, but it was a very good game at the start, just lost interest quickly. See with most MMO's we receive here in the U.S. have had a good 1-4 years of development in another country Lol. This game is new, but they really should of made more things to do v.v like what is the point in playing after you get to the core a few times? and get all ur gear the best it can?

1. The story is like the

1. The story is like the above poster said, the core has not opened yet, which will continue the storyline. Also for those that hit JK (and maybe Vanaduke?) before it got removed we got to see a message from Spiral HQ telling a little plot for the boss area. It was added by accident, its for a future update, which is why it was removed.

2. Name a single MMO player that actually LIKES quests. You don't do quests because they're fun (and unless its a dungeon run they're usually NOT), you do quests because they reward xp and/or gold. They're a means to level your character and nothing more usually. SK doesn't need that honestly.

3. Agree with monkeyman135.

4. You've never fought Vanaduke have you? Or been in a Tier 3 shock stratum arena with slimes... QUICKSILVER DOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!

5. No leveling system is what makes it unique, it's like multiplayer Legend of Zelda in a way. How good you are is based on how skillful you are, not on "I'm lv 80 and i have 784532 STR blah blah". Ask any high end player, before the big crafting patch you had plenty of people literally buying their way to 5* gear... most of them still can't finish a Tier 2 run without dying multiple times because strong equipment doesn't mean a thing if you don't have the skill to use it effectively. You level up your gear, it gets stronger, and can usually be upgraded once it hits a certain point. Getting 5* equipment is an achievement. As is beating the big bad bosses with equipment of equal level for the boss.

6. See no problem with the system actually. Its no different then having to buy/find new equipment all the time because your character leveled up and the monsters are stronger.

7. More bosses will be added as they go, one is already being worked on for Tier 1, and has been named and everything. The game hasn't even been officially released 2 months yet, give it some time to continue developing.
