I've gone a step further in the kat counting. Here's the results from 30 floors (15 Candlestick, 15 haunted... Alone in the Dark first two floors essentially)

Totals: 7/478 = 1.46% BK spawn
Out of those 7, of course zero books. Though I'm about 90% sure its a 1.5% chance of a BK taking place of a spookat.

If only... I can now run 25
If only... I can now run 25 floors a hour and I average a mere kat every hour. I don't have the exact numbers but we can assume there is an average of 20 kats per floor.
Regular kats: 20*25 -> 500 kats.
Average number of black kats: 1.
1/500 -> 0.2 % chance of meeting a black kat.
Makes you wonder what are the pathetic odds for them to drop a book. Gj OOO for this wonderful piece of event. And for probably reducing the spawnrate of black kats even more during the event as I used to meet them fairly more before, this was much needed.
And please don't come with RNG blabla. When you're doing such massive runs, you're supposed to get closer to the actual probability set by the staff. If it was a 1 or 2% chance I would have been close to it after three thousands runs done.

Welp, never doing that again. Hours upon hours of solo speedrunning Alone in the Dark for, well, nothing much. What a shame.

I'm somewhere between 190 and
I'm somewhere between 190 and 200 Black Kats encountered and yet no books.
In the meantime found:
- Love Puppy twice, one of which dropped a True Love Locket
- Two Mewkats
- 30 Eternal orbs but only one Elite (OOO sneaky way of encouraging you to craft 5* and pay for radiants, so sneaky)
- 20 Sparks (maybe more)
- Around 3800 Shining Crystals
- Luckily crafted a High ASI Undead Low Avenger to actually hunt for kats
- And I now know every possible pattern of a Candlestick level, I even know the exact number of kats that will spawn in the exact spots and even which kind (status dealing or regular).

Memorizing the keeps
From the last event, I've memorized the layout of all the candlestick keeps. Now it is much easier to predict the map because we have that large minimap.
I also know a few ways to squeeze out a few extra kat spawns depending on the level. I've gotten a few black kats that way too.
