Because with an assumed 1% chance of a book dropping per BK, a total of 4 BK would make the probability of you getting a book just under 4%, regardless if they were all on the level or not. Still, nice find though.

The distribution of no.of black kats to kill in order to see a book drop is binomial (look up binomial distribution) with p = 0.01 (assumed)
Some numbers:
P(n, x) denotes the probability of obtaining x books after killing n black kats
P(100, x= 1) ~= 0.370 (probability of getting exactly one book from killing 100 bk)
P(100, x>=1) ~= 0.634 = 1-P(100, x=0) (probability of getting one or more than one book)
P(100, x=0) = 0.366
A good question to ask: How can I be 95% confident that I will get a book drop?
That is, solve for P(n, x>=1) = 0.95
n is roughly 298. Note this is the summed probability for getting one or more than one book.

well somehow i do not find a
well somehow i do not find a kat after like 3 alone in the dark runs, but when i do find one there is another kat in the same run. this happened to me 4 times now, but this has to be just a coincidence

I found some who knew what they had done.
But that's because the RNG was on your side. So far in this event the RNG has been interestingly affectionate towards me.
Probably to make up for all the times in the past when it's just given me rock jellies and headbands.

I've actually been not that unlucky. I've found more BKs in this event than I did in the previous one :P And I've also found a Mewkat in my first run :3

I've had a few double spawns, but they were all in different levels/runs. Still no book though :c (but I did get 6 Eternal Orbs of Alchemy today; two of them were even on the same level o.o).
