Short of the vaporizer bombs (AoA, VV, VT, SB, etc) what are the best bombs to use in LD?

Without a doubt, the best bomb IMO is the Dark Briar Barrage. Works very well in creating a safe zone for yourself, very useful in taking down Guardians if you don't want to engage them in a sword fight, and is extremely effective as an "anti-bomber" weapon, when you deal with other bombers.

Shocking salt bomb is quite fun to use. While it can't lock people down like VT it's unpredictable and the shock is stronger so it's gonna catch people that a VT wouldn't. The downside to ssb is you have to overlap the rings to make it effective and it's an offense oriented bomb which makes it risky to use.
Honestly most of the bombs aren't all that bad, it's really just the non-nitro blast bombs and the non-shocking/scintillating shard bombs that feel really weak.

Aside from mist bombs...
Nitronome, due to short charge and mobility/range.
I love vortex for its utility, but it's hard to link to that to quantitative results.
