Does vegetable oil effect the rate at which you get Ancient Pages? I know this may sound crazy, but after I started playing the game stark nude while coated in vegetable oil I've been seeing more Black kats. Before I put the oil on, I found about 2-4 Kats everyday depending on how long I played. However, after lathering the oil all over my body I've been finding 500-600 black kats every hour, or roughly 9 black kats per minute = 1 black kat spawns every 6.6 seconds. Luck? Or is the oil a magnet for these undead felines?

I'd be sure to give it a try. I might have gone through 3 gallon jugs of vegetable oil, but it was totally worth it.

This feels like a terrible money grab by OOO. I get that Spiral Knights is a free to play game and they need to make money but I can't be bothered to order several jugs of vegetable oil from them! Not to mention the additional cost of cleaning it up afterwards, I think they didn't think this through.

Totally a scam !? I tried covering myself with cooking oil while totally naked and nothing happened in-game...I've even tried it with Canola oil, Olive oil, Fish oil , Oil from the face, Oil from the butter :< The only thing changed was my body is waxed...My life is a lie ;_;

Ya see, what you do is wear nothing but a thong while balancing a spoon on your nose, and have your roommate in the background sing "Banana Boat Song (Day O)", while another person plays the bongos.
By doing this I found around 11 Black Kats every 3-4 minutes :D

Pfft, don't you know the only reason that's working is because your skin is absorbing it? You don't need to just cover yourself in it, that would be silly! There's no need to get full butt nekked either. Even though it is fun!
I found that injecting the vegetable oil directly into my bloodstream works wonders! I've found multiple books! And sol- er..donated them.. to charity! Cause you know, for the kids!
It lessens the cleanup, and i only need 1/3rd of a bottle! Saves me lots of money.
Working on the side effects though. I feel a bit drowsy, and my sclera in my eyes are a sickly green color. But hey, i'm sure ill be fine.

I'd rather do it without bodily harm. For example, wear mirrored sunglasses while drinking white rum from a human skull. At the same time do a perfect handstand while listening to "Dragonforce, Through the Fire and the Flames"
You'll look bad@ss while listening to bad@ss music at the same time.
Plus, the cat spawn rate will go up quite a bit. At least for me it does...
