Alright, then let me spill my idea, since its still fresh from the Oven.. ^_^
If we wouldn't have the same version as the one from OCH, but more of a "spiral" issue, a modified one, smaller in size, yet just as powerful.
The prototype would be similar to that of the magnus line, that has a good chance to cause moderate stun.
So a single shot would be a normal slug, and a charge-up shot would sound like a rocket puppy.
Of course, as you upgrade, to it's final form, the charge up shot in it's 5* form would be a lock-on rocket.~

I can't speak for anyone else, but this is okay for me. Just the damage numbers we have to crack.
This would introduce a whole new gameplay style of just hanging back at the start of the map firing mortar shots...... +1
I feel like this would be a bit hard to code and balance. I say hard to code because of all the bounds checking, which would add stress to the server as you shot things straight up into the air. They can't fall outside the map or it looks awful. I say hard to balance because it would effectively be a long range bomb, and allowing the knight to spam such a thing could be a bit unruly.
Perhaps the normal shot could lock onto an enemy, and the charge shot would shoot a single rocket upwards? Charge shooting without tagging would be just like placing a bomb... The marker would be like a crosshair under that enemy's feet. Shooting at nothing or missing a tag would undo any tags existing, and tags would last forever or until you ran too far off. This would make it very much the same as the mortafire's weapons.
The new style of gameplay and possibilities caused by it would definitely be pretty cool though. I especially like the idea of having it deal status effects... a freeze version would be handy and fun.

I wasn't exactly thinking of firing rockets straight upwards, ( and your right, this would cause MOAR LAGG D: ), Instead, I was thinking more like, for instance- If , Let's say a Rocket puppy takes up one block on the map, then when you fire this new gun with a charge-up shot, you would have a greater range, and the lock-on feature like those 'other' rocket puppies that shoot Homing rockets at you. SO- range would be about 5 Rocket puppies Lined up.
Or 5 blocks of a ranged Lock-on attack.
I like this idea. I mulled over it in my head back when I didn't have an account. Maybe some other Gun Puppy Head Weps to i.e.

It really depends on the strength(damage) and possible status effects(i.e.: stun) and quite possibly if forum vets like this idea. It's better to stay detailed about these, IMO.
