I've noticed that the heat bars after a level have two different bars, one orange and one yellow, However I cannot figure out for the life of me what the two bars mean, I can level up my gear once the yellow bar has filled. Is there a benefit to filling it completely, like keeping some heat after the item is leveled up? Or a better chance of success?
Heat bars
no that's not what I'm trying to explain either, let me try to elaborate, at the end of a stage the heat distribution bars have two bars that fill up over lapping one another, one is yellow one is orange, i can level up a piece of equipment to say level 2 at the yellow bar being maxed out, but i noticed i can fill the heat bar up till the orange bar is full too, what I'm tryign to figure out is what the point of this is.
One is the heat a weapon currently has at the end of the level, the other is the amount of heat being gained.
you gotta be kidding me... it was that simple ?
As Dibs said → Orange = "previously heated" while Yellow = "heated this depth".
I think i know what you are trying to say.
In the end of the level, when the heat bar starts so increase, your current heat is an orange bar that will start to grow as the heat is distributed. It may go to the very end of set slot, but IT DOESN'T MEAN THE WEAPON IS FULLY HEATED.
You might have to run another level to heat it to the maximun and then forge it.
Now, let's say the heat you collected in this level was enough to heat the weapon to the maximum. Then you have a different effect. You will see a yellow bar starting to fade in and glow while the orange bar grows and overlap it.
Is this what you are trying to say? If it is, it's only to show it's gonna fill the entire bar, there is nothing special about it.
I don't know what you mean about the two different bars --- but then I haven't heated anything in a while.
By "level up", do you mean "upgrade" --- meaning, increase the star level of an item? Heat improves the damage of a weapon, and the protections of an armor or shield. But once you upgrade the item, the upgraded version starts at heat level 1, and does not "remember" its old heat level in any way.
For example, suppose that you want to upgrade a 3-star item to 4 stars. Then you need to heat the item to heat level 5. "Overheating" the item to heat level 8 or 10 does not confer any benefit to the upgraded item. It also does not affect the chance of upgrading, because upgrades always succeed.
The only reason why you might overheat an item is to get more chances at Forge Prize Boxes. If you have many extra 3-star fire crystals and you're not in a hurry, then you might as well try to get one of these rare boxes.
