Does the Red Saber work differently than the Cutter series or has it been modified or is there just a general error on the wiki?

I was getting damage numbers for the Red Saber and the Chilling Duelist for the wiki. Something was weird however as there was this line added in by Culture in 2011:

The basic attack has alternating high and low hits, the last hit of the basic combo does the charge-level damage.

Now when testing the Red Saber, the finisher had much more damage than usual. I have yet to test this on the Dread Venom Striker or what not but I just wanted easy clarification if this has been looked into or not. (or if someone actually knows the answer)

the way Cutters work

The way Cutter combos work, as explained for example at Dread Venom Striker, is that each stroke produces two damage numbers:
* first stroke: high, low
* second stroke: high, low
* third stroke: high, low
* fourth stroke: high, low
* fifth stroke: charge, low
So are you saying that Red Saber does this? Or are you saying that Red Saber's last stroke is even higher than this?

The Red Saber's damage numbers at S2:

High: 16 - 19
Low: 10
Charge: 30 - 34

This is supposed to be how it is, right? However, when preforming the last stroke, this is the damage numbers for red saber:

High Basic: 16 - 19
Low Basic: 10
High Finisher: 19 - 22
Low Finisher: 18
Charge Attack: 30 - 34

Now as you can see, the last stroke (finisher) does slightly more damage than the other swings but is still weaker than the charge attack. Even the low finisher has more damage than the low basic.

interesting

Interesting. Maybe Three Rings retuned the damage numbers because of the fire status. Or maybe this is how they think a 1-star Cutter should behave, and they are free to make it happen, because it doesn't have to mesh with upgrades.

just tried it on some training bags, it applies to DVS & WHB but not Red Saber.

I just tried it with WHB in Arcade and the difference applies there for me.

EDIT: Or it was the charge and I messed up.

So it does seem as though the Red Saber has some special modification to it compared to the Cutter series.

this line added in by Culture in 2011:
I'm kinda confused, weren't Red Saber and Chilling Duelist added last year?

By that I meant that on the wiki for all the Cutter series had that line added in 2011 and I wasn't sure if it was updated at some point or what-not.

I still wonder why the Red Saber has this slight mechanic change instead of using the charge. (Too overpowered otherwise maybe?)

Ooh, I have an idea. What if you've got it backwards, and OOO actually buffed the charge attack? So instead of dealing less damage on the final hit of the combo, you deal more damage on every hit of the charge?
