I just made rescue camp mission.
I've seen a lot of NPCs performing this emote where they would salute you, like in the army.
Sorry, my english is so poor i can't explain. Do you know what I'm talking about? Can you do this with your character?

I dunno if you're still looking at this, but...
You can also do /salute to salute a particular knight. So, if I typed "/salute Dandi", the text would say Autofire salutes Dandi.
This page has more help on the chat, and this one is for emotes. Also, you can do /ignore to ignore someone. I suggest you use this only when someone makes your experience in Spiral Knights less pleasant, 'cause, if they have something important to tell you, you won't hear it. :P
