I'm not having this problem, but Steam forums are regulary flooded with topic "Game won't start" and this is very important to fix, because tons of newbies are not joining the game because of that. This problem is mostly fixed by disabling Steam Overlay, but it needs to be fixed anyway. Without fixing that Steam users without overlay cannot buy energy etc.

Most of users are describing the crash by that game starts, screen is black for some time and then crash. This happens everytime, so they cannot play the game!

If you think it isn't important to fix, check this - 15 pages with "Crash" word and mostly this is the problem.

I'm suggesting this to fix ASAP.

Plenty of threads on this

This has been discussed and determined that it is more of a steam problem than SK. The most OOO can do is complain to valve about people not being able to use the overlay.

That being said, you can always attempt reinstalling and checking to make sure things are updated correctly.

You have not understood correctly.
-I don't have this problem, but a ton of other Steam users
-Overlay causes them to crash game, not that overlay isn't working.

It's probably game problem, because other steam games are working for them correctly.

There are a lot of factors going into this problem.
1. OOO makes a game.
2. Valve makes an overlay.
3. LOTS of computer component manufacterers make components that can function together as a computer.

I linked specifically to a comment that links to the official steam post saying that programs are incompatable with running at the same time as the steam overlay. You want a direct link to a list of things that may interfere? Try this

You then talk about the game crashing with or without the steam overlay. Direct those players to this link. It is very difficult to resolve a problem that there is little to no information about. Have they tried turning it off and on again?

Lastly, have you even looked at some of the threads?
They have a characeristic theme of this. Players don't want to resolve the problems themselves. They want to make a new thread and expect someone to solve their problem.

same here.. kinda pissed..

ive been having the same problem i purchased $10 in steam wallet and cannot purchase crystal energy it says "authorizing via steam" and sits there...
ive also tried leaving it be but after leaving it for 1 hour strait it still did not work so there was no way i would wait any longer... i am pissed off because i spent $10 cash and im not a big spender... but yeah u know if u can help me fix this problem tha'd be very nice of u guys....

list of things ive tried:

1: Sat at PC at my desk for 1 hour strait and came back and saw no change..

2:looked up solutions and found that there was a spending limit which i have not spent anything over $100... like the forms from steam or SK's website said..

3:Finally almost spent 24 hours searching for solutions on google.. which made me mad... >:(

4:Sent 2 support requests to steam and SK and havent heard for 48 hours..
