Combuster is the strongest, and is easier to get than voltedge.
EDIT: Actually, I shouldn't say combuster is stronger cause I don't know if enemies ride the voltedge wave.

If you want power, Combuster is definitely the best. WRH is loads of fun and also very powerful but that's what you already have.
Voltedge is pretty boring, imo. It's not very viable if you don't play PvP, either. Then there's Glacius. Glacius can be fun to use but it's rather powerful either way. And lastly, there's FoV. It's quite the trophy sword. The charge can be useful but you have to build your loadouts around it so it's not always an eays thing to do.

@Cinoa
If the enemies are shocked, they suffer spasms and don't ride the wave.

Combuster is the best

Combuster is the best brandish for damage - enemies ride the wave of explosions, unlike both glacius and voltedge.
I only have a boltbrand - I find it quite fun to see the enemies randomly explode from shock damage if they're on really low health. This effect would be much greater if you ran combuster outside of FSC though.

Fang of Vog is a joke sword that's fun to use if you pile on pentas and a heckton of fire resistance. The regualr attacks are somewhat bad, however some people do use it for the extended reach of the regular attacks.

Really though, get whatever brandish you think looks the best. In the end they'll all murder everything stupidly fast.

EDIT: almost forgot to post a picture of the greatest elemental sword ever.

So everyone agrees on combustor, but what about FSC, voltedge seems superior there because of fire...

No. As explained earlier in this thread, enemies hit by Voltedge charges will not necessarily ride the entire wave. Thus, one will inflict higher damage by using a Combuster as the pure damage of the explosions is higher than the damage of a few explosions and shock. It's arguably also safer, due to the predictable knockback.

for example in the last room

for example in the last room on depth 27 in FSC, there is not a lot of room to walk around, a voltedge charge will shock the zombies in place an deal high damage. A combuster charge will probably deal more damage but it will scatter the zombies into the fire traps, which makes it harder for you and your team to sweep them as fast as possible. Another note on combuster vs voltedge: combuster has higher damage because they take all the charge hits + high fire damage, voltedge doesnt hit the same monster with all blasts unless they are resistant to shock (and then combusters fire damage will make it deal more damage), so combuster kills stuff faster. Voltedge on the other hand can shock several enemies at once, and greatly reduce pressure for example in heart of ice. It really makes a difference if the fiends are shocked and spasm sometimes, instead of spamming their attacks on you. So voltedge can function as a defensive sword there. Personally, I use both.

obligatory

This topic has been discussed in countless threads. Try searching Google for something like "elemental sword site:forums.spiralknights.com". My own answer is here. Yes, I favor Combuster (and WRH), even in Firestorm Citadel, for the reasons outlined above.

Another thing for voltedge vs combuster - voltedge is always better with vortexes. Shocking them in one place results in a great DoT effect and will usually lock them in place when the vortex explodes, letting you put another charge in the group without having to vortex again. Works especially well in that one fsc room with the bunch of 5-zombie waves.

I wouldn't say that's necessarily right. I'll admit that I haven't tried too much but I'm under the belief that it's better to use Combuster or Glacius with Electron Vortex because if the enemies are shocked, that might interfere with the EV shock. If they are shocked by the EV, they will spasm and they will not fly out of the vortex. If they're shocked by what I believe is a stronger form of shock (not sure about that), the EV shock won't override the Voltedge shock (not sure about this, either), and the enemies might scatter when the vortex explodes.

Electron Vortex + Voltedge

Actually, Voltedge is probably the best to use with Electron vortex in FSC. When the vortex starts, use Voltedge charge, before the bomb explodes. Because Voltedge spasms enemies, it helps to keep it in place, and (as said earlier,) doesn't ride the wave. When Electron Vortexes explode, the shock keeps them in place so they don't scatter everywhere. You don't have to worry about that. Any brandish charge in general probably works well with EV. I know this works because I tend to FSC with parties, as well as alone. Every brandish works with it (Especially voltedge because I carry it in there). As far as I know, only DA charges seem overpower the vortexes.
