Damage is useless. Rather boast about 100 captures than 100,000 damage points. I used to boast about damage, but now capturing is the essence. Even if it means you killed or harmed numerous players, that doesn't mean anything . Players can reheal themselves and nothing could be cared about. . .

Proud of you. I'm not sure but I think Defends do count though.
Defends are the highest honor. Why? Because no one knows how exactly to get them. And if I'm correct and you have to kill someone on the cp then it combines damage and caps into one while also saying that you know how to battle with extreme skill. Or luck.
You get defends by killing someone who is attempting to capture a base/near the base. (pretty sure)
You know what else is useless? Repeating the same wrong thread others have made before.
There is no one thing more important than others in Lockdown. Not caps, not damage, not defends.
The only thing that matters in Lockdown is how well you can adapt to fit the role your team needs.
The one thing that matters in Lockdown is having fun. FoV charge FTW.
When you've been here as long as I have, your threshold for these kind of things changes.
I do have to agree, though I haven't really poked my head around this side of the fourm... But from what I've seen, it is all...redundant. But only so much can be discussed... right? The Coliseum is deadly.
We like close games on this side.
I don't necessarily respect people with 20k damage too much. If you have that much damage on top of 15 captures and 18 defends, then please tell me where I can meet you for a personalized autograph.
Caps are nice, but a high number of them leads me to believe the team was really bad at holding ther own points.
^ and that's entirely correct. The games in which the results are the most uneven, one team tends to end up spawn camping the other. One might argue it's cheap but in the end, it just means that team consists of a lot better players. At best, no one on that team has more than 3 caps because more wouldn't be necessary or possible since anything that leaves the base is dead within 10 seconds.
Caps are really bad. Snapbacks are probably the better solution!
damage (well, not really damage--more like killing) is just as important as capturing. The stat defends isn't really very useful, as all it does is show how many people you killed on your point--not on points that are neutral, and not around the point.
Some could argue killing is even more important--your team is more likely to win if you have 4 people who kill/defend points the whole game and two others who focus on capturing solely than the opposite (4 capturers, 2 defenders) against two even teams.
To win in serious match you need:
Skill/smart
Decent gear (heart pendants, dmg bonus gear, ASI isn't quite as big a necessity but still nice to have)
Capturing
Defending (holding points, not the stat)
Teamwork
in a serious match, if you take even one of these away you're going to lose.
