So I am wondering how many of you saw player called Start-The-Action in haven beggin people for 2000cr (sometimes for accessories and other items) long hours almost every day instead playing missions to get money. He was really annoying beacuse even if you warned him he didn't stop with trade requests or PMs.

Just wanted to say that ****** became rank Defender Elite from rank Knight within few days with all his begging!!! Seriously -_- all the stuff that make game easier (HoH, Missions and free items from missions...) for new players and they still want free stuff...

Hey there.

First things first, there is no naming and shaming allowed. (It's part of the forums ToS)
I won't tell you what you should do, because a gm is going to step in and do something if you walk down the wrong path from here.

Now onto the thread.
I agree with every fiber of of my being that begging should be extinct in this game. The only ones that probably do it are very ignorant of how to get crowns. All the time spent typing and begging could be used towards clicking the mouse beating up the gremlins who said your mother wears combat boots.

I could sorta understand

I could sorta understand beggars back when Mist was a thing, but now that the game is free, it really makes no sense to beg rather than just play the game.

Naming wasn't really

Naming wasn't really necessary since everyone probably knows this guy anyway. Even after some Rank upgrades he still goes on with begging. Mostly the fault of people who decided to give him some crowns. Why would he stop if it worked so great.

Even a T1 run gives you roughly about 5-6k~ crowns. There is no need to beg at all.
The bitching about orbs is also total nonsense. If you find em, you can craft for free. If you decide to convert earned cr/spent money and get them from depot then it's like old times again. So why the hell would you say it's bad to have orbs. Some clowns might come with the mist energy at me, but i'm not here to discuss this.(uhu 100 E discount)

@ OP

OMG, that bot (no, wait, even npc-s are better than that guy)!!!

Saw that cobalt-clone every day I in logged on, he would always just ask for money, i told that annoying brat to go and do his rank missions, but NOOOO, he'd just keep acting like a complete 'REDUCTED'.
After a few days he found me once again, while I was checking out the AH, so I just did what Arc did: accepted the trade, wrote in like 100k, than opened up youtube; 10 mins later i come back to see what's up, and you guessed it, we were still in the trade.
Ppl like this make others feel that the game is dying for a reason.

/sigh

@Altmetal

LOL thanks for the tip. I will do that too next time.

@Lagretta

Solo snarby on elite takes (my average) 12 minutes for about 2kcr + 3 tokens (when you get 12 you can also buy snarbostuffing and sell even for 5kcr on good day) so even that would be faster than begging. And yes, it's true that the player who gave him some made a huge misstake...

Well.

I've seen that 'Start-The' guy.He begs us to help him with mission or give him crowns.I find it bull*censored*.

Now I think I understand why people begs then after reaching Vanguard rank,he quits.

I suggest everyone NOT to feed the 'Beggars' since they will leave after they reach the Rank of Vanguard.

But worst of all...I've seen Beggars 1-3 per months....

I don't know why are you guys

I don't know why are you guys all against this guy. I love trolling him/her/it. You can troll with him and watch him crying and pissing off. Then you tell him to do some missions and he will say "shut up, i did 5 missions already" (this is kinda ironic, since he's named start-the-action but he's not much active in clockworks). Anyway, it's so funny to see how people troll him, and he's so sad. Then he moves to the next haven.

Lets face it guys, some (not all, some) beggars exist because someone, somewhere is giving them money. I say this from experience.
I've seen people give out handouts because the character begging may (or may not be) female, i've seen people give out money because: "its only 5k, that's should be pocket change for Vanguards." -Some idiot.

But, other than that. They're never gonna go away, so you'd might as well just /ignore everyone that begs, since that's the only thing that can be done.
And the GM's can't do much, its like policing drugs, it's difficult to pinpoint exactly who is doing it without people on the inside.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Don't feed the bears. I mean beggars.

In reality, all of these beggars are T3 players who created alternate knights just so that they could be annoying. They are trolls. So, yes, it's better to troll the bears. I mean beggars.

I usually tell them I'll pay them for running around the fountain. It's rather entertaining because a lot of them actually do it. And I give 1-10 CR per lap. How does one get so desperate? It'd be faster to just play the game.

@krakob
We could get more beggers together and make them race around fountain.
Winner gets 0,001kcr

Beggars?

You don't know how many random trades I get when I was playing and in Haven.

Answer: about ten a day.
Alongside around four random friend requests and the uncommon guild invite.

If you are running the game on steam you could just turn steam overlay on. You can be away from keyboard for hours and not be logged out.

Why don't you just leave the trade invite pending as in don't accept the invite and don't reject it either. It stays as a notification in your invite tab thing. That way they can never send you a trade in that session. There are too many beggars in this game to be caring about one. Next week we'll probably see another one of these threads.

Arcknightdelta post#17:
"It stays as a notification"

What you can do to hide this (kind of):

  1. turn down or mute the "ui" volume.
  2. Open up tabs that cover both sides of the screen (ex. social and inventoy)

You'll still see the notification message though as the social tab does not cover all of chat, but you can just as well ignore chat too if you want (the star notifications for joining someones party and trade go away after a while i think)

Arcknightdelta as well as everyone here are trying to help you. I think it would be in your best interest to give Arck's thread a read and then decide what your reply on this thread is going to be.
