I absolutely believe with all my heart and soul that OOO(Three Rings) should actually host their own convention for this game. It would be amazing! Given there are SOOOOOO many people who play this game, at least a small number of people would come.

I would suggest they simply have a booth at some other convention with some representatives from Three Rings there.
Spiral Knights itself has players all over the world, but not enough of them are A) of individual traveling age, B) have enough money to go to this convention (especially our friends over in EU, plane tickets might be overly expensive for something so simple), C) active enough in the game and its community.
The thought is great, but in practice it may be a bit of a hassle for very little to happen. I'd recommend you host a Spiral Knights convention or meetup of sorts in your area to get a little taste of what can happen. If it's fun, you can keep doing them and watch it grow!
