The graveyard is quite possibly the ONLY un-enjoyable part of this game. I personally love this game but every time I get the graveyard I feel as if it's just wasted energy due to the phantoms playing hitler with myself and my team members. The best part about this game is that even though it's challenging at times, it always is POSSIBLE and the graveyard is barely grazing possibility. I actually find myself checking gates to see which one has the least amount of graveyard options on it. A simple reduction in the quantity or strength of phantoms would be appropriate I think, I just haven't heard a single good review about the level and I believe it won't deteriorate the value of the game if it is either removed or modified.

other than that Spiral Knights is a great and original game. My favorite MMO by far. keep up the good work!!

a lot of people like

a lot of people like graveyards cause they are one of the most profitable levels that you can get. now about the phantom...well they arent a problem at all when i solo, and when i go with a party i only seem to have a problem when everyone else dies leaving me to deal with multiple phantoms while skeles are spawned everywhere.

i think they are okay the way they are but in comparison to other mobs yes they are quite a bit more challenging.

Most of the problem is that

Most of the problem is that people want to rush through a level in order to avoid the Phantoms. However, Graveyard levels are built like a horror movie. If you try to run ahead, someone is going to trip and fall behind (or get mobbed by skeletons in the case of Spiral Knights). The best way to make it through a graveyard is to stick together and go slow.

Although, I wish there weren't so many Phantoms (now that I think about it, they remind me of Demon's Souls). Maybe three phantoms for a group of four, two for a group of three, two for a group of two, and one if you're solo.

Phantoms aren't so bad once

Phantoms aren't so bad once you understand how their attacks work, but as was mentioned people tend to rush too much, spawn all the zombies, so there's no room to maneuver when the phantoms show up. It's not so much a matter of high difficulty as it is people failing to understand the nature of the encounter, I think. If I explained that well enough, anyway.

I rather like graveyards, I

I rather like graveyards, I greatly prefer getting one of them over a Disappointment Vault (oops, slipped there, Treasure Vault). Treasure Vaults I get a few hundred crowns if lucky, and enough heat to raise a 1* item a tiny bit. Graveyards I get a ton of crowns from the possible 100 or so zombies, possible Grim Sparks from any treasure chests I run across that aren't behind an Energy door (personal opinion... only energy doors worth opening are for Danger Rooms, others aren't profitable), and a lot of heat from said zombies.

The phantoms and zombies just take practice honestly.

Grab a divine avenger, block

Grab a divine avenger, block after the first attack.

Keep repeating over and over again.

Equip Bomb, Charge, Distract, Release.

When I'm in a group, I tell them to make a run for it, while I charge my bomb & let loose on those Zombies. Bounces them back & does a lot of damage. Now, about those Phantoms...RUN!!!

Huh

I guess I've just always been stuck with a group that was as ignorant of how to do the level as I was. I'll look into strategies and what not. It's just so frustrating to waste energy reviving because of those RELENTLESS @$$HOLE PHANTOMS!! If anyone knows where I can find a more in-depth strategy then that would be much appreciated.

And I agree about the disappointment vault (there's no shame in calling it so, I don't prefer them either)

Strategy eh.. Kill zombies

Strategy eh..

Kill zombies one at the time, never summon more than three.
Whenever a phantom appears, mova back alittle so that you don't accedantaly summon more zombies while fighting the phantom.

As for fighting the phantoms, simply block and move.
Attack AFTER the phantom done its attack. Remember they have a 3-slash combo.. but they always move in a straight line when doing it.
To best dodge there charge attack, move behind gravestones and walls.

I love the gravceyards, and rarly have to res myself.. and it gives a ton of crowns :D

Phantom charge attack is a

Phantom charge attack is a great time to get a couple hits in. Just be sure to shield push them after you take one or two swings, and you can get far enough away to avoid the projectiles even if you can't get a headstone in the way.

But it does get more complicated when there's multiples phantoms after you at the same time. That situation takes a little more finesse to get hits in without leaving yourself vulnerable to the one you're not attacking.
