Yes, apparently it does. I just found a Frostbreaker Shield. At first I was like, a new pickup?! Then I was like..."wait that's a shield" Last time I saw an item drop was 3 years ago!

There have been reports on equipment drops recently, so it seems like they are back. The drop rate is probably lower than before the battle sprite patch.

I actually found a jelly helm while doing a random JK run, so yeah it looks like the drops still occur.

the thread

Thanks for your report. But please file your report at the official, GM-sanctioned thread in Wiki Editors:

(Yes, thread 11128 is still active after three years.)

helps with data collection

It's not that we need a GM's permission or anything like that. The point is to collect data in a single location, so that it's not scattered across many threads. So please report in that official thread, if you actually want to help us understand the rate of equipment drops.

The fact that it's sponsored by a GM is actually a little odd. Does it indicate that Three Rings doesn't know how often equipment drops? Or is it just a fun "game" the GM came up with for us?

@Bopp ↑

GMs seemingly don't know and do not have access to the code.
If it were a developer, I would raise the same questions.

GMs vs. developers

I know that GMs aren't the same thing as developers. But presumably they are allowed to talk to the developers, right?

In other words, I'm assuming that Three Rings is a unified, professional entity, that shares internal information within its walls, and carefully crafts its external interactions with its customers. But maybe that's a bad assumption.
