For me it was during the transition to the new system, where they let steam accounts post on the forums and log in that way. I simply asked someone how to do it, and they told me. Then, I selected the silkwing and that was my avatar.

I've always wanted a Royal
I've always wanted a Royal Jelly set as a noob since JK was my favorite boss. I never really got far into the Jelly series besides a rock jelly helm and the brute jelly from JK rewards. When they allowed avatar pictures I saw that you could use a Royal Jelly set as your avatar. I realized since I couldn't get it in game, why use it as my avatar? To this day the Royal Jelly set is my favorite set... but I never got it xD

I stalked these forums for quite a time in ye old days, so when I joined I just knew from other guys getting thier eyes clawed out by others. To be honest I'm not sure myself when i joined these forums.
I chose this one because I had always liked kats. Another reason is because I'm learning to resummon marg-uh I mean, my story is pretty bland.

Rose Sets.
I've always liked the Knight of the Rose Sets. I set upon a quest to get them, and so I eventually got a set and changed my avatar icon to a tabard set. (I think OOO should include 2nd generation tabard sets as avatars).

I don't remember much of it but the first time I chose an avatar, I chose the regular Spookat. Later on, I saw people using the much more fabulous Desk Clerk avatar so I changed to it. Now everyone says "KAT FIGHT" when I argue with Feyi...

Simple, really.
I try to stand behind the idea of angelic or divine appearances, my name rooting from the word "angel" and all.
The valkyrie armor set is both divine in appearance but also resembles an angel(somewhat). It was also my first set of armor I upgraded to 5* because I sought out an angelic appearance. So, on that same train of thought, I sought out the same armor set on the forums and here we have it.

When I first joined, I picked the devilite. A lot of people confused me for you, Fehzor! "Hey Fehzor, when are you gonna snap out of it?" Anyways, that was back when you were devilite Fehzor. When you changed to Jelly Fehzor, I decided to change to the Crate for absolutely no reason.

Being familiar with forums, I clicked on "forum preferences" and then "edit," to see what kind of options my account had. And then I picked this one since it's pretty close to my usual outfit anyway. At least in personal color/helmet style, I went Dusky, not Regal, with my Proto armor set.

I was curious what the 'Forum Preferences' link did. The rest? It's history.
Once upon a time, I joined the Forums for whatever reason. I was a fan of the Guardian class, and I liked the underatedness of the Ironmight set. So I went to Forum Preferences and changed my picture to that. Conveniently, it also had my personal color!
It was the happiest moment of my life...
Now, when can we get avatars of Recon Rangers? I'm never out of uniform.
