I have noticed (And hate that) zombies hardly ever stop what there doing when you hit them 3 times with a weapon (A combo) That means when you knight pauses to end the combo they kill you. Comboing is one of my greatest strategies, making levels with zombies extremely difficult. They need to fall down or be paused when you combo them more.
Zombies + Combos = Knights Death
There's this lovely technique called Shield-cancelling. It's something most learn to do before reaching Tier 2, as it takes away all the risk of being smacked in the face by a painfully slow moving Zombie.
Zombies are already Balanced though.
I will say though, they have a pretty charitable sized damage radius on their lunge attack, and they can hit twice in a single lunge.
Zombies are nicely balanced. Not too strong, not too weak.
"they have a pretty charitable sized damage radius on their lunge attack"
Yeah, I find their range to be fairly inaccurate and difficult to judge. I use the cutter, and the only reason this situation applies is because at 3 hits you've done very little damage for a 5* weapon with the final cutters. Not sure how this functions with other weapons though, seeing as that even though you can't finish a combo, you still deal out more damage than a cutter and thus kill it faster.
The third attack will interrupt if your damage bonus is high enough. Otherwise, just do two attacks at a time, move around them, etc.
Sorry that you have to do something other than spam click?
You could always, you know, take two steps to the side and completely avoid the attack.
Even better, you could charge walk so that you can both get your entire combo out as well as be completely safe from harm.
Or maybe even just use a gun, I'm pretty sure every gun in the game works perfectly fine against them.
Or how about bombing, those work perfectly fine as well.
I don't know, you're just so limited on how to fight these things. Hard to comprehend how spam clicking with a 3-hit sword isn't the solution to everything.
To be honest, zombies deserve a small buff. Their face-hugging attack is rare and quite honestly the only time I ever get hit by them is when they do their jump and I forget they have an active hitbox when they finish it (I make the same mistake with Scarabs).
And I wouldn't really call comboing a strategy, since it's the basics of almost every hands-on RPG like, ever. A strategy is attacking when an enemy is most vulnerable, a strategy is playing a support role to help aid your allies in killing the enemy, a strategy is knocking an enemy into a wall so you can whack on them without fear of missing and potentially losing DPS.
Going click-click-click then complaining about how it didn't work isn't a strategy.
The only things the zombie has that makes it even somewhat of a threat are its mist breath (easily countered with some breath mints/status res), the buggy face-omnomnoming animation, and the double hit lunge, which is rather easy to just dodge.
"Their face-hugging attack is rare"
Yes, I've recently began trying to solo FSC and must say that this attack is the best attack in the game. They need to do this more often.
"Going click-click-click then complaining about how it didn't work isn't a strategy."
I am sensing a PICNIC ERROR.
You want to make them weaker?
