Hi. Name's Yuiknight if u wanna add me in game my forum name is Mio756. Heh didn't wanna make the same name for my character and my forum name though. So i'm sorry if u get confused. Any1 know how I can get starred equips without buying or selling oh and i'm new to the game if that helps. Does your equips have to be a certain level?
Star equips
So I don't quite get what ur saying but i'll try my best at guessing. Are you trying to say that I need to go to a vendor that sells recipes and then do this thing you call "crafting" you meen like once you get a recipe theres a list of materials that go along with the recipe one u hover over it? Um sorry i'm REALLY new to this whole online gaming community I usually play non online games and this is my very first time cause someone told me the whole game es totally free. Anyway bac to my interpretation of your reply. So players in general cannot level their weapon up to let's say 10 or 20 and get "starred" equips?
Ok, I'll give this a shot (you're new to the game, so I think there is a lot of disconnect between how this game works and what you are expecting)
Equipment does nothing on it's own, other than gain levels, max level of 10. To get better equipment you can:
A) Buy it straight from a vendor (never do this)
B) Buy it from a fellow knight directly
C) Buy it from the Auction House
D) Buy a recipe and craft it
Depending on what you want (if you haven't looked at the wiki, I highly recommend that, link is at the top of the page!) it can be much cheaper to do one over the other, but will vary greatly. I highly recommend not getting anything that's 1*, since almost all of those items do not have an upgrade path to 5*, but in the end the game is all about personal preference, and doing something otherwise will not hurt you, merely slow down your game advancement slightly. I would generally recommend the Auction House, as many commonly sought after 2* weapons can be bought for 2,000 crowns or less. That may seem like a lot, but to craft said item you have to buy the recipe (1k cr) then craft it (400 cr + 50 energy + mats) making it quite viable. You may get better deals in trade or if you know someone, but it's pretty hit-or-miss
Eventually you WILL have to craft, as most 4 and 5* gear cannot be sold or traded. This is where the "upgrade path" I mentioned comes into play. To craft a 4* item, you often need the 3* version of that same weapon (for example, an Ascended Calibur requires a lvl 5 Tempered Calibur) so finding a weapon that you like and that has a viable 5* progression is good to do early on. Again, not required in any way, just nice to have happen.
I hope you enjoy the game!
I think I get it but this does bring up new questions for me like C) buying from the Auction House. I did that once for a piece of armor. But uh what is this "ce" your going on about? And how do I "craft"? and do I need this ce to craft?
Anyway, I was just paying and I got a starred STATIC EDGE. So if I get this right I need to level my 1 star to a level 10 and then do the "crafting" thing?
CE: Crystal Energy. The energy you buy with real money or through the energy market (click on the energy symbol in the bottom-right corner of your screen, hit the 3rd tab. that's the energy market, currently energy is around 100 CE for ~5,000 crowns)
Craft: Once you have a recipe, you must first learn it, then you go to an alchemy station. Clicking on that will show you what recipes you have, and list the components needed for building whatever it is. Many recipes require a previous version of the item in order to make the next star level of it, so for example if you get the Shocking Edge recipe, a 2* sword, it requires you to have a Static Edge as one of the components.
I will repeat that you should spend a little time with the wiki. That has all (or almost all with new content just released) of the items in the game, and will show you what the creation paths of what you have or want are. Your Static Edge will stop being upgradeable at 2*, for example. This isn't a bad thing for you (I enjoyed my static edge just fine for a little while) but you can use it to prevent going down a path you won't want in the future.
A free way would be getting a weapon from the Token Vender. Sealed swords and the new Snarble Barb are great weapons, the new Spine Cone is decent. I would say to avoid Antiguas, but some find uses for them.
For Sealed Swords and Antiguas you would need to kill Jelly King (Tier 2 boss) around 7-10 times, but seeing how you are probably just starting out killing the Tier 1 boss (Snarbolax) 3-4 times would get you a decent 2** wep.
Thank you :) I will try and make use of all your answers the best I can.
So if I understand your question right, your wondering if there was any way to get better equips without buying or selling stuff to vendor or the Auction House?
Well the only other way to get better stuff is through crafting your own stuff. You'll have to buy your recipes in order to make that stuff but it's usually cheaper than getting it from the previously mentioned sources (In my opinion anyway), though you do end up using a lot of energy by going this route. Also, certain recipes requires an it's "lower tier (star level)" version to be at a certain level to make the said weapon.
So hopefully that answered your question.
