At first... Treasure Vault was a place where people shared their Fan-Fictions...
Then, came the choose-yer-own-adventure! It was pretty nice! Snowdusk first made it, if I'm not mistaken.
Then... came the first role-play. (Thinslayer, was it?) It's pretty good too.
But now.... I see no fan-fics. All there is, are RPs. What has Treasure Vault turned into?

Yeah, I remember back when this place were filled with Fan-Fics. Now it's just filled up with boring RPs. I think the reason why Fan-Fics died out because RPs attracts more atrention because the story is controlled by the readers, not the author.
The first RP I remember was Azure-Orbit's "Clockwork Renegades." The first one I participated in was Vinnydime's "The Fangs." My first RP, "Return to Cradle," came after those two. I was not the pioneer of roleplaying, but I think it's safe to say I popularized it. :P
Many of the RPs you see on the front page are dead ones recently bumped by a *certain person*.
Honestly I'm kind of bummed that there's not more visual art. vOv
Actually, there's still a lot of visual art being produced; the biggest change is that it's mostly in the context of roleplaying, and this buried in gaming threads where only the players will see them. Check out my own Flickr page for example to see what I mean.
I'm starting something new for the treasure vault. Since bumping is troublesome, I won't do it anymore unless it isn't mostly dead.
For Example: I could bump Scavengers, because that is just suffering from inactivity from only two people- Which caused everyone else to stop.
OH WAIT, THAT MEANS I CAN'T BUMP IT!
AGH!
Anyway. Check out the new thing. It's not a fanfic, Not an RP- Or it wasn't originally planned to be. I guess I'll let that spoiler slip through, but whatever.
For the time being, it is not a RP, But a Collab.

OMG! First time I had so many replies in such a short time!
And... I am planning a collab with Isekuube. xD And.... I'll admit RPs are fun. But reading Fan-Fics, and seeing your favourite characters die,fall in love, or do something crazy is the best feeling, because you can't control that character. :D
EDIT: You don't mind me using a character based on Gwen, do you, Thin? She's the most innocent, pure-minded and just plain awesome female godess I can think off. :D
@Liminori: "Fate/Stay Night" and "Fate/Zero" anime.
@Cobalterian: I don't have a monopoly on her personality aspects, so go right ahead. Successfully modeling a character after her, though, would likely require getting into her mind, and she's not very innocent or goddess-like in there. :P
One of the key aspects of Gwen's character is NOT her virtue, but rather her evil. Like any human being, she was born evil, and much of her character stems from her intentional attempts to push the evil away. When she does good deeds, she has to think about them first, pushing away her selfish desires in order to help others.
In short, her good deeds are almost never spontaneous.
When she fails to push away the evil within her, that's when things go terribly awry.
Thinslayer - Ahh good to know! I don't really browse the bigger threads so I guess I overlook stuff like that. I'll peek in every now and then with that in mind, though. (I'm a terrible roleplayer so I generally don't bother, haha.)
You should probably try it sometime. It's fun! Don't let low skill get in your way - Creeperlucario, for example, is doing pretty well for herself ever since she began practicing with us on the forum games.
It's more that I'm just terrible at committing to something like that, hahah. If I don't feel inspiration at that moment I'm like "ehhh I'll do it later," and then later never comes and then I feel too guilty to continue. /trash
Little known fact, I started college for writing but switched to visual arts when I realized I enjoyed telling stories more with pictures than words, which is good, because I am bad at words, hahaha.
Actually, it would be AWESOME if we could enlist that ability to really spice up the forum games! Would you consider drawing scenes from our stories occasionally?

also I'm saving up to move soon so free arts are basically a no-go :( I gotta focus on making dollars by August.

Sure, but here are some ground rules:
-I am not you, so I will never really have the same interpretation of one thing as you, just like how I protray Gwen in my art different from others.
-I make art for the sake of art, never for money, so please do appreciate if I do try something new once in a while... like the time I added breasts to some female knights.
-Sometimes, parts of my mind decide to go ham on certain art concepts and I often unable to control myself and make something crazy.
With the rules been said, I just need to know the character profiles (you will have to link them to me) and the scene that you wanted me to draw, I can do comics or just a single scene, however, a comic will take much longer than just one scene.
Just found that line. GO HAM!
Oh, and I've been thinking of making a competition, but I'm low of funds, and I still owe my friend a game. xD
I am still writting stand alone fan fic, just check out spiral knights: the blade of genesis as well as my older work project retribution. Fan fics are still around, it is just that most people now days are either too lazy to make their own story or too deprived of ideas and the guts to make one.
