So, on one of my characters (which happens to be the one I go by on the forums) I decided to try a bomber. I know that for my armor I'm getting volcanic demo, but I'm stuck on what bombs and shield to take. Shield I'm thinking owlite, but bombs I don't really know what to do. Any suggestions?

EDIT:As shown on my second post in this thread, i also asked for help with my gunner loadout.

Bombs you say?

Here are some of the things you need, depending on what kind of bomber you are.

Heavy offensive:
Master blast bomb, why not nitronome? Coz you want the maximum spammage on this bomb and let me tell you now that the 5* upgrade will have less damage. (med CTR on lvl10 master blast bomb + CTR VH on full volcanic demo suit=maximum!)
Spike shower, 4* of the dark bair barrage, also the piercing counter part of the blast bomb, a must have if you are having problems with fiends.
Ash of Agni/voltic tempest, why upgrade them to 5*? For better radius of course, it burns/shocks the heck out of construct and undead enemies, don't try the crystal shard bombs, they suck.
Dark retribution, it is dark retribution, nuff said, pure shadow destruction.

Heavy defensive:
Any of the vortex bombs, shadow or elemental, it is your choice, since damage really isn't the prime purpose of the bomb.
Venom veiler, poison bomb that can reduce enemy damage and increase the amount of damage you can do to the enemy.
Iron tech bomb, a slower version of blast bomb that charge slower but hit harder. Not good for newbs, but deadly in the hand of a veteran.
Shivermist buster, the ultimate rooting machine, can put even the strongest enemies to the ground, except for some of the bosses

If you want to go middle of the road, then mix the bombs I recommended together and you should be fine, as for shield, if you are not planning on getting multiple special shield, then you might as well get Omega shell.

Bombing Guide

There's a Bombing Guide on the wiki. Last I checked, it was much better than the Gunslinger and Swordmaster Guides. Maybe you could read it and come back here with more specific questions?

P.S. Dark Briar Barrage and Dark Retribution.

Nitronome, Dark Briar

Nitronome, Dark Briar Barrage, Voltaic tempest, and shocking salt bomb are all good bombs to have.

Once you get the expansion mission you may want to use the Dark retribution more than the salt bomb.

In general Bombs are like pokemon, the more you collect the more you can do. And in general bombs have few dead ends, there is the deconstructor line (which stops at 4stars) and there is a lot of hate regarding the new shard bomb style (though these are still viable weapons due to that incredible flinch rate and a type distribution that covers everything).

As for shields you want one of each type, start with pierce and shadow first as demo suits have natural elemental resist.

Pet perks generally revolve around the CTR increase, that is until you get the volcanic set. Once you get the 5star armor you can use a wider variety of perks, most players just use the HP boost while I prefer monster type boosts (predator perk for wolver dens as an example). Quick steps is also very useful as it allows you to outpace certain monsters (homing mecha knights, greavers, etc) and gives you more control over the field.

Biohazard is good for soloing

Biohazard is good for soloing and slimes (just be patient and stack those charges), Blitz is good for that charge (that is about all going for it), Valiance for utility, Polaris is just for easy spam, Storm/nova/umbra drivers are all good (provided you can aim the charge to spawn the ricochets inside the enemy). (Magnus is a fun gun but not too useful in terms of raw damage or mobility)

To get alchemer charges to work right you need to turn off Auto target. And do this

EDIT:
For sets you should probably get the Shadowsun set for the damage increase. For shields you can get a swiftstrike, or to play safer just use one to protect from each damage type (shadow, pierce, elemental).

If you get the expansion mission you can craft a Perfect mask of Seerus. This generally works best with gun that you charge a lot (such as blitz or alchemers), other guns are better with the shadowsun Stetson Polaris, valiance, and (due to the already crazy short charge time) Biohazard.

Pet perks generally stick with CTR or damage, though ASI also works. Monster family perks (which are +3) get more mileage when paired with the Mask of Seerus, because when they are on Shadowsun (which has +4 damage) the universal damage from the trueshot perk (+2 damage) creates a max (which is +6 and cannot go higher so the +3 gets wasted).

Gunslinger Guide

Have you read the Gunslinger Guide? Last I checked it's not great, but it should help you understand your armor and weapon choices.

Why are you set on getting one of the Antiguas? They are more boring, and less powerful, than other guns (particularly alchemers).

Short of learning to aim

Short of learning to aim better without AT most antiguas are low on power when compared to other guns.

The argent peacemaker is good at handling devilites due to the numerous shots, AT help, and the fact that they stop their attack if they get hit while in the middle of it, thus making them safer to handle for the sword mains on your team.

They are fair in LD with perhaps a bit more use than the magnus, catalyzer, autogun lines, but they still pale in comparison to a full on Alchemer, Polaris, valiance onslaught.
