Wow guess what. I wanted to lvlup my obsidian edge to lvl 5 with radiants. So, I had 24kcr. Boguht 20radiants and tries lvl ing up woth 30% chance. Failed. Ok. Lemme try again... hm.... vendors blight needle to get 10 radiants and tries 30% again... Failed. Throws mouse on floor. Vendors a FOV. buys 30 radiants. Tries 70%. Fails. Screams profanities at computer.Ok... my last chance... *vendors skolver cap with shick high. Buys 30 radiants. Borrows 1k cr from guildmate to finalise all the radiants so I can get 70% . Ok.... after 30% and 30% and 70% fails... this shld work ... presses forge on 70%. YAY!!!!!!! IT FAILED. WOW. SERIOUSLY?????????? this is probably my worst luck in the gane of all time. I mean, my account got hacked before but at least that was when I was just a knight. Now, I cant level up a obsidian edge in peace? My goodness. Now I wished I shldve jus vendored all my items and jus did the 100%. Im SOO lucky today :'(

After some struggle I have managed to read your text. You forged four times, at 30%, 30%, 70%, and 70%. All failed. Assuming that the rates are what they claim to be, the chances of this happening are
0.7 * 0.7 * 0.3 * 0.3 = 4.41%.
That's unlucky; I'm sorry to hear it. It doesn't seem outrageously unlucky, though.
Don't get rid of your valuable items (Skolver Cap with shock+3!) just to forge a weapon one heat level. Instead, do one or two more Tier 3 runs or FSC runs to get 21 or 42 Radiants (my average). Good luck.

Wait it out. It may take forever to get radiants, but always getting the 100% is the best way to go. If not, you could end up losing way more time and money than you would have.
Yep It's too risky forging at any percentage other than 100 when you have a small amount of radiants.
For me,since I have a lot of radiants I first forge at 30 just to try my luck.Because of my luck I manage to heat most of my weapons on the 30 percent .However,sometimes I fail and when I do I don't do another 30 percent I go straight ahead to 100 percent. Eventually I win more than I lose and in my opinion it's better than 100 percent all the time.
Only do this if you have a lot of radiants(enough to heat 2 weapons on 100 percent)
I also found out that there's a lower chance of forging on 30 percent after the first 5 levels of a weapon. Idk why but I'll leave that to bopp if he cares

I'd like to see the data that led you to this conclusion. Skepticraven has a thread where he is amassing forging data. Ideally you two would combine data sets.

never ever try mid forge if you dont trust your own luck, and ye the rate seem to be fake..
seem to me the rate was going for 45 - 60% and more lower when reach lvl 7
Keep in mind with my data, Chesshirecat has submitted some data through his optimal radiant usage (2x for 4 and 5* items). I've done nothing with the data since it is always a 0% chance for bonuses when the forge is failed, but it is being collected if people submit their data. My personal data (which accounts for about 80% of the data) is all maximum fire crystals for 100% chance. There have also only been 20 failed forgings total recorded (out of 1000 datapoints).

Anyway, if you have a couple of friends doing FSC, tell them to reserve a spot until depth 26 and join. I've gotten up to 31 radiants in one run from depth 26.

Sorry man, it hurts, I know... Radiants are just too precious these days. Reason why I only do the 70% or higher, never the 30% as it's too low of a chance and you'd be wasting terribly precious resources.
I counted and found I have 11 5* gear to forge and they are all ranging from 1-7 so what am I suppose to do?
Pick the most important weapons, and forge those. Bam --- now you have only two or three items to forge.
Then forge your less important weapons that still get used. Then forge your armor that gets used. Then forge stuff you don't use (or just hang on to the Radiants).
This is how life works. You have limited resources, and you have to prioritize their allocation.

Even with just a couple hours a day, I can usually forge a 5* from 1-10 in about a week's time. That's really not bad considering that's a max weapon. In other multiplayer games you can spend months grinding for something like that. BUT NOPE STILL NOT FAST ENOUGH.

There is only 3 5star stuff that should ever be vendored: The stuff you get with 30 seals (Correct me if i'm wrong, but something like Heavy Plate Mail/Helm/Sheild?) Anything else should NEVER be vendored.

Not doing 100% is a bad thing.
(I have a SLIGHT feelings unless it's 100%, it's 0% >.>)
And: If you don't wanna be a vanguard, become rank 9-4, and don't do all those missions.

I've had 3 x 80% chances (3 or 4* item, can't remember) fail in a row before. It happens. You shouldn't have vendored all that stuff, seriously, just do a few vana runs to get your sub-100% rolls. I've been doing it recently and even repeating FSC over and over is hella more fun than sitting around crying because I don't have any radiants.
Obsidian edge is a brandish anyway. It's already overpowered without heating, dunno what you're worried about.
