Starting a new playthrough

I was getting bored of going through Forums and such, so I considered doing a NG+4.
Each of my throughways I tried mixing up my Loadout for different experiences, and I would appreciate if I could get some advice! ^w^
My previous loadouts are (but not limited to,) as follow:
1.) Mercurial set - Barb. Shield - DA - Blitz
2.) Vog set - Owlite shield - Glacius/WRH - Argent - (other, less used secondary weapons)
3.) Chaos set - Barb/Owlite/Swift - WRH - Volt Driver - stuffz (Can't remember, lol)
So if anyone would recommend a path, that would be great. I'm considering Achreon and heavier armor, opinions? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Sorry for not elaborating :Y
NG+4 (or NG++++) means this, to an extent . So basically a fourth, fresh playthrough of the game (albeit with character-file assistance).
I am inquiring about what I should start with, aim for, and/or any opinions on equipment I should get for the new character.
And yes, I luv mah 'mentalz.

Consider going as one of the NPC classes in HoH! I'm kinda going as a guardian for my alt with a Khovorod, autogun, boosted plate shield, dusker cap, dusker coat. Makes the game a bit more harder since you have to follow the class. Striker is also another cool class I like but I prefer guardian. Please note that I am talking about PvE classes, not PvP. Though a recon class for PvE would be assasinating monstors by cloaking with Maskeraith but there is a cool down for that skill.

Maybe you should try my midnight-Dj's super loadout that can beat and survive any clock work depth!
You only need five pieces of armor, one shield and four weapons to beat the entire game!
Helmet: divine veil, dragon scale helm
Armor(pick which ever you want): skolver coat/deadly virulisk suit/ironmight suit, vog cub coat/volcanic plate mail, armor of the fallen/dread skelly suit
shield: (pick which ever you want)volcanic plate shield/omega shell
With these gears, combine any two out of the five armour you chosen can help you against two types of enemies.
Beast+jelly -> dragon scale helm + skolver coat
undead+fiend-> divine veil+armour of the fallen
construct+gremlin->dragon scale helm/divine veil+vog cub coat
As for weapons, choose two types of weapon that you want to use, bomb, gun and sword, pick two and then dicide which one you want to specialize and which one you want to generalize.
For the weapon type you want to generalize, you get a pure normal damage dealing of the type (leviathan blade/valiance/nitronome)
And for the weapon type you want to specialize, get piercing/shadow/elemental damage dealing of the type:
for sword: FinalFlourish/acheron/combuster
for bomb: DBB/shocking salt bomb/ash of agni
for gun: blitz needle/umbra driver/polaris

I was considering Guardian as well. I tried faster weapons on the other characters, so yea. At the very least a heavy shield.
After a while, I am considering Achreon, WRH/Triglav/THEMIGHTYTHRIDTROIKA and FF/BTB, Blitz/Pepperbox (mainly for self-defense cuz dat knockback, and the Normal damage)/Trollaris, Armor of the Fallen/Dragon Scale/Volcanic Plate, and Seerus/Helm of the Fallen. Opinions?
BTW naming my character Tsubaki, I'm sure you'll git it Dj. +w+

Ironic right?
Sir-Henry-Cooldown post#5:
"BTW naming my character Tsubaki"
Is the name from the anime "Soul Eater"?
That's cool that your making each character unique?

nope, the name tsubaki is derived from the beam katana Travis touchdown used in the Wii game 'no more heroes', and in the same game, there is a guy called Henry Cooldown . And there was a famous line in the game.
Travis touchdown: "If it isn't Henry mother-------" (I used the same quote in my comment#4 tittle)
Henry cooldown: "It is SIR Henry mother------- to you!"

In real life context, a tsubaki is a genus of camellia, so theres that too. :P

Try using bombs and plate armour, gaining CTR from heat levels and your battle sprite (I'd say drakon, so you can use the fireball to hit switches etc). Since ASI doesn't (really) affect bombs at all, it could be interesting to see how well huge defence works with a bomber playstyle.
What if you used volcanic plate mail with a swifstrike buckler - it would neutralise the attack speed decrease (even giving you a low bonus) and would also be much more forgiving than another armour if you got hit, due ot the high resistances. Essentially this would be shifting your defences from your shield (an active defence method) to your armour (a passive defence method).
Heck, might try this out myself.

I shall be getting a heavier set, with high Normal and a little of every other defense. For these following armors (or something different), I would like to know what combinations would be best. My current equipment choices are;
Helm- Crown of the Fallen(Shadow)/Mask of Seerus(Elemental)
Armor- Volcanic(Elemental)/Ironmight(Pierce)
Shield(the tricky one)- Dragon Scale(ElementalXPierce)/Aegis[or]BTS (Pierce)/Ironmight(Pierce)/Volcanic(Pure Normal)
Weapon- Archeon, WRH, FF/BTB/Blitz
Drakon
Any help on this one? o-o;
EDIT:Moving this to a more suitable forum

Ah, shields. I like shields. I have more 5* shields than 5* swords, guns or bombs. I like them.
Crown of the fallen with volcanic would work great against everything except shock/fiends - Even then you can just make up the damage penalty with a sprite perk.
Dragon scale is cosmetically awesome but isn't actually that practical - here's a chart Zeddy made for the usefulness of shields.
DO NOT get Aegis. Ever.
Ironmight is useable but really not optimal, possibly the only places it's worth having over another shield are regular RJP/GWW and perhaps the Ice RJP shadow lair (cannot vouch for that last one)
Volcanic plate shield is a great shield to have - normal defence is reliable for large AOE attacks (Trojans, Vana SMASH) However you should focus more on the status resistances than the damage type itself (I'd recommend volcanic plate over ironmight by the way, double the number of status resistances and a more useful damage type resistance).
You haven't listed grey owlite - it's among the best shields, due to it having many useful resistances.
Personally I would recommend Volcanic plate or Grey owlite for a defensive shield, however if you want to use your armour to survive rather than your shield then you could go for BTS/SSB instead. I'd say get volcanic plate personally because it'll match your armour and look awesome.

Putting aside the fact that damage protections don't do a whole lot anyway, why would you emphasize normal protection? Especially on Tier 3 Elite, there is a ton of non-normal damage flying around. Are you optimizing for Vanaduke's mace or something?

As I said, I mostly use it for large AOE attacks.
With something like a zombie swipe, there's a very small area that is atctually hits in and you can get out of the way easier than you can a trojan that's decided to rush at you suddenly. Sure, this can be negated by situational awareness but I find it much more useful if you can negate big attacks completely and dodge the smaller ones.
Basically, yeah, I'm optimising for big smashes like Vanaduke's mace, Trojans, Tortodrones, Lumbers, those swarm turret bullets that will make you bleed your soul out in normal damage unless you're wearing plate mail/shield. Things that do a lot of damage.
Consider how often you actually take a hit with your shield - being able to take multiple hits in a row doesn't really matter, because you're probably not in a good situation if that happens. If you only take one hit every so often, might as well make it block one of every attack, not more of the smaller attacks but get broken by a trojan that then stuns you. I hope that some of this makes sense?
Listen to bopp. I'm just rambling about what shields I like.
Omegashell4lyf

I am definitely go with Crown and Volcanic. I just wish I could put the torto shields on the list, because they REALLY fill the gap. But le sigh. Dat Gorgomega woulda halped. The reason I didn't put Owlite on the list was because I had already used it on another character, but I guess it's still good ether way.
BTW, I couldn't help but notice... It says that Volcanic Shield has 7+ Shadow. Is this a pre-patched version, or just mixed it up with stun?

It's just mixed up. The score is identical though.
I have a gorgomega and really don't use it that often - then again I don't come across freeze levels that often. If you're thinking the shadow/stun defence would be good for fsc... volcanic plate is better :D
What's an NG+4?
A couple of your loadouts have only elemental weapons. These are great against undead and constructs, but only okay against fiends and slimes, and downright bad against gremlins and beasts. You want two different damage types in there --- unless you're doing Firestorm Citadel, where elemental weapons are enough.
Are you asking for an alchemy path (a new item to make), or a path through the Clockworks (appropriate for one of your current loadouts)?
